Strong speed in this with HURRICANE HOUND pouring it on early and HAY STREET HERO, IN IS HANDS, DIAMOND TOWN and SCENITON all capable of going forward.

I’m happy to be on (2) GREY JABIRU on an each way basis. He’s a handy horse when on song and his last two fresh runs have produced a win and a very good third behind a couple of handy gallopers. He’s been tuned up with a very soft trial and from barrier 1 he should be able to settle just behind the speed and if he sees daylight he should be rattling home late.

(6) ALVARES was very impressive at Kalgoorlie in his first run for the Steve Wolfe stable. He settled just off midfield and let rip down the middle of the track to defy the big bias on the day. He can win again.

(4) IN HIS HANDS is a query at the trip but he should appreciate the drop back to midweek grade.

(8) DIAMOND TOWN led and controlled a weak race on debut. This is harder but he’s in the mix again.
