R3. Westspeed Handicap - 1 January 1970

Quite an even race, with a few promising types engaged

This field in my opinion contains six live winning hopes and opinions will be divided. I have settled on the Adam Durrant trained Saxy Grace (9), who at both of her career starts has been very good. She can settle closer than she has been, she carries a light weight, Dan Staeck jumps back on board and the distance looks right up her alley. She gets the most ticks for mine. Thornly beauty (7) is my second pick, I thought she was a good winning chance last start but just came up short. From barrier one she gets all the favours and should be around the mark. Trade Down (1) was massive last start when coming from next to last on the home corner under a big weight to only go down a short head. He is another with good each way claims.
