Stewards found Drysdale (as owner of the horses) ?did connive with licensed trainer Michael Pearson, for Pearson to hold himself out as the trainer of the horses for the purpose of entering those horses & racing the horses? when ?at all times they were not being trained by a qualified trainer but were being trained by Drysdale, whose qualification to train was cancelled by Racing Queensland on 14 March 2011?.
Jake Noonan Return To Riding Delayed Indefinitely

Apprentice Jake Noonan's career ?remains on hold indefinitely? after Racing Victoria told him at a meeting (also attended by his trainer-father & master Tony Noonan, plus RV medical consultant Dr Gary Zimmerman & RV executives) ?that he would not be relicensed until he passed a cognitive test? reported The Herald-Sun.

Noonan (who suffered severe concussion in a race fall at Flemington on May 7 & spent several weeks in hospital followed by a stint at a rehabilitation hospital) ?sat the exhaustive 2-hour test last week, but did not meet the required standard. It's understood the apprentice is below normal in one area.? RV senior executive Bernard Saundry told the Noonans that Jake would be reassessed in a month. Saundry confirmed: ?Our medical advice, through Gary Zimmerman, hasn't cleared him to ride. And ultimately the welfare of Jake is our number 1 priority. I know Tony & Jake are concerned, but until Gary says he's right to ride we can't let him ride. Tony said to me that Jake is riding in trackwork & trials but, based on medical advice, they are different circumstances to riding on race day.?

Tony Noonan said it was now ?likely Jake would have a working holiday in Europe, given the RV ruling effectively ended any chance of the 18-year-old being a Spring player?.
story from Breeding and Racing:

A ?fact-finding mission early next month is expected to erase fears of a Rocket Man no-show at Flemington in November? reported The Herald-Sun. Star Australian-bred but Singapore-based sprinter Rocket Man's owner Fred Crabbia made Victoria Racing Club officials ?nervous on Sunday when he declared Rocket Man a certain starter in Japan?s Sprinters Stakes (1200m) at Nakayama on October 2?. Quarantine requirements would make Rocket Man ?unable to run in both the Japanese race & the November 5 Gr1 Patinack Farm Classic in a clash with Black Caviar?. However Rocket Man's trainer Robert Shaw ?insisted yesterday the 1200m Patinack was his priority, though he conceded there was some confusion over quarantine?. Shaw also said he had ?some reservations about the Werribee quarantine facility, saying he had been aware of worries about the quality of the surface at the track?. Shaw confirmed: ?I'm coming out on the 5th of August to have a look at the facility & also to get to the bottom of the quarantine issue. From there I'll make my mind up, but I'd love to be there for a clash in the Patinack. It would be a lovely race.? Rocket Man began pre-training in Singapore last Monday & Shaw said: ?I'm preparing him for a racing return at the end of August. Ideally we'd like to have a race or two & maybe a couple of trials before heading Down Under.? Shaw added he felt obliged to race Australian-bred Rocket Man (Viscount-Macrosa, by McGinty) at Flemington, noting: ?In many ways, he's an Aussie horse. So it's something we'd be very keen to do. As I've said all along, we'd love to have a crack at Black Caviar.? (Jul 6)

Moreira off to Sydney on Saturday

Brazilian jockey Joao Moreira, who on Sunday topped the century mark of winners for the 2011 season, will be missing from action in Singapore on Friday night.

Moreira flies to Australia on Thursday where he will ride at the Randwick meeting in Sydney on Saturday.

He will have four rides for John Thompson who is the main trainer for Patinack Farm Racing and its principle owner Nathan Tinkler, partnering stable stars Pane In The Glass, Trusting, Gathering and Run For Wilson.

Moreira was offered more rides on the eight event Randwick program from outside stables but elected to stick to just the four Thompson rides.

?I have been asked down to ride some of their horses in some cup races on Saturday,? said Moreira. ?They said they wouldn?t be asking me down if they didn?t think the horses didn?t have any chance.

?I was asked by some other trainers if I would be interested in taking some more rides, but I will only be riding for John Thompson and I have four rides for him.

?I am really looking forward to heading down there. It will be my first time riding in Sydney and from what I hear it is a very nice place.

?It will be a very good experience for me to ride there and I am keen to explore more opportunities should they occur for me to ride at different places around the world.

?I am still only young and I am very keen to keep on learning.

?I am sure it will be a great experience.?

Thompson and the Patinack team have asked for Moreira to come down to Sydney early and ride trackwork and to get the feel of Randwick track.

He is no stranger to success in Australia having taken the Kallis International Jockey Challenge at Ascot in Perth last November ? his first visit ?Down Under?.

Moreira has been in sparkling form in Singapore in recent months. Since the start of June he has ridden 61 winners, of which 24 came during the month of August including a six-timer on August 7.

Following the Randwick meeting Moreira will fly back to Singapore to ride at the Group 3 Jumbo Jet Trophy meeting on Sunday.

Nathan Tinkler has got the smartest hoop in Singapore for these horses.
Interesting ... must look at the form
:D
