Help me out. Backed Side Glance at Ascot tonight. When event closed Side Glance was showing 7.10/2.30. I watched race, congratulated myself on my modest each way bet, then refreshed the ozbet page, 5.20/1.80. WTF? If the event is closed, how does the price reduce that much? Am I missing something?

Quite confident of having a good day tomorrow. Hoping for a dead track.

R1 - That's not it is a sneaky chance if $15 or over is available. I just can't buy into to the others. Set and forget my other selection but i fear it will open hard in the market.

R2 - Very good betting race. I will be working around Gogonski and Caravaggio, Although Win for layla can surprise. Of the favoured horses: Burnout was flattered last time out and torah and Cash bound just aren't running good enough times for my liking.

R3 - Very keen on No Vanity. Lovely filly with a good kick who can lead from a good barrier. Would prefer to see around the valley or Caulfield though. Mumbai miss also attracts interest at the price and was very good last time.

R4 - Race in two. Tanby is too short for my liking so i am leaning towards stole. That said, i am petrified of Tanby. Berlioz is the knockout chance.

R5 - Confident Akzar can go to the front and control the race. This should be ridden a lot more to suit although he was exposed a bit last start. I feel I'm imposing will open at around 2.50 and that is short enough. I want $6 about akzar though. I expect it to open up at $4. Elusive king was my former pick but seems to have a few problems.

R6 - Hate tipping her but i am going with Precious Lorraine. I just think that she can settle closer and get a length of so on Almodovar who is a promising commodity. The blinkers off will help a lot. Of the williams runners, i rate Weighted higher than integration and was surprised to see that integration was a lot harder in the market.

R7 - Given we're still on a dead track at this time i'll be going with the stablemate true persuasion over the even money favourite. Tollesprit is a chance but i would've liked to see the trainer more confident about its chances. Look out if the money comes for it.

R8 - Falken appeals at the big odds. I had this as a race in four, with the top rated Miss Bindi but she has come up ludicrous odds. Will need a lot better than the $3 available. Sleeque is over the odds and will be hard to hold out. Snow cover is the other chance but imo is unders as well.

Quaddie: 2,4,15/1,2,6/2,4,7/1,6,8,12,15
