ONLY TWO LIVE CHANCES REMAIN FOR BONUS
The first opportunity to lay claim to the inaugural Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Stakes $1 million baby bonus, presented itself at Caulfield on Australia Day and champion trainer Peter Snowden and jockey Mark Zahra seized that opportunity.
Sepoy, owned by Darley's Sheikh Mohammad and wearing the Australia Day colours, won the Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Preview for colts in scintillating fashion by three and a half lengths from Grand Britannia and the pre-post favourite Golden Archer a further half length away in third position. In so doing, Sepoy became the first horse eligible for the $1 million bonus that is on offer for any horse that wins all three legs of the Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Series.
Many expected trainer Peter Moody and Luke Nolen to be in this position with the short-priced favourite ($1.70) Golden Archer, but the Caulfield-based duo provided some consolation 36 minutes later when One Last Dance saluted in the fillies division to become the second live bonus chance.
During post race interviews, Snowden and Moody indicated a persuasion to continue on the $1million bonus path with both horses and plan to compete in the second legs of the series, the Group 3 Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Preludes over 1100 metres on C F Orr Stakes Day on 12 February.
Moody declared the programme for One Last Dance was not going to be influenced by the lure of the bonus.
She'll need the experience, he declared. Fitness isn't an issue, but she'll be better for the experience so she'll be here (for the Prelude) and hopefully continue on her way.
Moody, who came so close to a clean sweep of the three legs of the Blue Diamond in 2009 with Reward For Effort, has also indicated he will apply either winkers or blinkers to Golden Archer in an attempt to improve him heading in to the remainder of the series.
Caulfield's next meeting is Saturday 5 February followed by the Club's two meetings of the Melbourne Festival of Racing - C F Orr Stakes Day on 12 February followed by the Club's triple Group 1 race day on 26 February, Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Stakes Day.

MARK ZARAH jockey................HRH SHEIK MOHAMED owner.................................PETER SNOWDEN trainer

MOODY?S GUINEAS WINNER AND
STAR JUVENILES ON SHOW AT CAULFIELD

Peter Moody's 24 win lead in the Victorian metropolitan trainers premiership looks set to be increased during the Australia Day meeting at Caulfield on Wednesday.
Moody has six horses entered for Wednesday while his nearest premiership challengers, Lee Freedman and David Hayes, have one and zero respectively.
The 2010 The Age Caulfield Guineas winner, Anacheeva, resumes from a spell in the $100,500 Listed Sportingbet Zeditave Stakes. His last campaigned ended in winning the Group 1 classic for three-year-olds at Caulfield last Spring.
Anacheeva?s first-up record is two starts for two wins and again has the services of stable rider Luke Nolen who has been in the saddle for four of his six career starts and three of his four victories. Moody also has Servant engaged in the same race.
Moody is set for an early afternoon as his remaining four runners are spread across the first four races and Luke Nolen will pilot all four.
In the first race on the programme, the Premier Signs Plate, Moody saddles up the lightly-raced three-year-old filly Storm Burst followed by Lord Pindari in the next race, the Isobel Malone Memorial.

The 2011 Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Previews, at Listed level over 1000m, no doubt hold the most interest for Moody.
He prepares one runner in each division, Golden Archer in race 3, the colts and geldings division, and One Last Dance in race 4 for the fillies.
Between them, both horses are undefeated from three runs. Golden Archer is two wins from two starts (aggregate winning margin of 4 lengths) while One Last Dance won her one and only outing at Moonee Valley on December 17 by 4 lengths.
Moody enjoyed success at this meeting last year when his star filly, Set For Fame, won the Kevin Hayes Stakes (now run on February 12).
Blue Diamond Stakes race series sponsor, Patinack Farm, has also got two interesting runners engaged in the Blue Diamond Previews.
Boys on Tour is one of five runners in the colts and geldings division who is un-raced but won a Randwick trial in September by 5 lengths while the John Thompson trained and Patinack Farm owned filly, Motifs is undefeated from two runs in Adelaide.

Despite not having a runner on the day, David Hayes will provide an exhibition gallop between races 7 and 8 by Rebel Soldier who is a new acquisition to the Lindsay Park stable.
Rebel Soldier has had four career starts in England including a Group 3 win in the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood in July. Rebel Soldier will gallop with three-year-old stable mate, Zero To Sixty.
Rebel Soldier will be ridden by Steven Arnold while Zero To Sixty will be ridden by Brad Rawiller.
Families are encouraged to enjoy all the action on the track and celebrate Australia Day at Caulfield. Patrons can relax in the Summer Turf Bar on the front lawn, indulge in an Aussie favourite sausage or hamburger straight off the BBQ or keep the kids entertained with free activities.
Prior to the running of Race 6, the John Dillon Stakes, the Australian National Anthem will be performed by the winner of the Australia Day Council National Anthem competition, 16 year old Harrison Craig.
Also, as part of the Australia Day celebrations, all jockeys riding horses carrying the Number 1 saddlecloth on Australia Day will be wearing a special set of Australia Day colours.

PETER MOODY

last roll of the dice before the weekend.... the Mornington track generally favours on pace runners, also look for locally trained horses in the area aswell as Cranbourne trained runners and is worth noting is that when Freedman usually goes there he always comes home with a winner or two...

Mornington - in race 1 I couldnt help but notice the name of the Smerdon first starter, by Secret Savings out of Show us your Legs = MONEYBOX
 :D
Devilenko is the one to beat in that race

r2 - Asterix
r3 - no bet race this, but a watch on Registered Nurse having her first start for Robbie.G
r4 - tough race, hard to split 3 4 5 1 & 7 box up in a tri and hope for a rough result
r5 - Janamaz
r6 - Bushrod (best) only danger is Takeonefortheteam & Looped (trim up leg)

r7 - tough race, go as wide as possible in the quaddie.
Fightingforfame is 1 win & 13 placings from 30 starts, hard to have it as a winning hope, although the trip is no concern and it should jump and lead if not be right up on pace and looks a good thing to run top 3, hard to see it missing a place and as mentioned its strike rate is a big concern but in this field gets its best chance to finally win its second race from as many starts... excellent place bet and for the novs

r8 - Skalatoson, Edikini & Sarem (all on an eachway basis)

Quaddie - 1.3.4.9.11/4/1.2.5.6.8.11.12.13/2.4.6.7.9.10.13
1.3.4.9.11/4.8.10/1.2.5.11.13/2.4.7.10

Happy Punting all :)

Seymour - Oli has a great book today and could easily ride a treble (or more) should be winning the JC!

I have him down for the first two winners, cautios of the first race though being such a small field and Freedman having two in the race.

r2 If Misery is half fit today she should have these covered with ease.

r3 Metallic Grey (best)

r4 Here To Rock (hard to have with a 3kg female on top  ) but a skinny race with only 3 winning hopes... big watch on the toppie, from the Smerdon yard, by Zabeel so will appreciate the trip and was well supported last start and Jade's Dillema for Oli/Freedman again

r5 Orienteer

r6 Alpha Proxima (win) Undercurrent (best roughie)

r7 Mild Mannered... also keen on Flash O'Brilliance here to run top 3, will be having a decent place bet as he'll need the run but should get a soft run from the gate and be right there at the end.

r8 hard race with no standouts here, work around numbers 2 3 4 7 & 8

Quaddie
2/2.3.4.5.9.11.14/3.4.6.7.10.13.15/2.3.4.7.8

2.3.4.5.6/2.3.4.5.14/3.4.6.13.15/2.3.4.7.8

Geelong r4 Shewan (best) Brillianconi the only danger, must inc for the novs...

r5 Pisa only needs to repeat its effort from last start when it was a 6 length winner at Kilmore over 1900 albeit in a maiden

r6 plenty of pace here from belcino, nosugar should go fwd from her gate, salicone is also a front runner and sunday wonder could also press fwd from its gate and be on pace, this will set it up for Handsome Target who has been flashing home its last two runs, Arnold goes back on who has a winning record on the horse and has been in the $$ all 3 of its runs at geelong. Toronto Star is the danger, horse is flying, forgive the last start at the valley when it never got into the race and B.Melham is riding better than anyone in Vic at the minute. Corstens runner down the bottom has a watch on it a big odds...

r7 toughest leg of the quaddie as some are resuming, one coming off a nice maiden win and the rest have been up for a while and and are knocking on the door, hard to have one on top but i'll be working around 3 5 & 9 in what looks to be a field of 6/1 odds

r8 another tough end to the quaddie, top pick is My Delica, she has form behind princess diablo who has since won at sandown last week and sopihie's spirit who was only a few lengths off winged charm and casual friday in the mares race at flemington on new years day, gate no problem as she will press fwd yet the jockey is my concern but if I can get eachway odds she looks a safe bet.

Best - Shewan
Best eachway - Handsome Target & My Delica
Quaddie 2.6.7.8.9.10/3.4.15/1.2.3.5.6.7.9.11/3.6.9.11.15.17.20
