R1: Maximum Demand is probably able to get across Quick
Stride then hand up to Golden State. His last couple have been good and is
suited in this field, gets his chance to win even with poor stats at the
distance. There is a chance jnr wants to kick through to hold out Golden State
on Pick My Pocket which would probably bring them both undone. Jimmy Mack and
As Happy As Larry are the two that would be laughing under that scenario but
even if its slowly run they can be put into it.Tip: No7 Golden State.
EQ:7,8,10. No Bet.

R2: Race changes with the scratching. Think Extradite gets a
really soft lead, not sure he can win but has to go in off the likely trip. It’s
a class drop for Our Rhythm N Blues, probably breezes, just want to see him do
it. Lightning Jolt 3rd up sitting 1,1 is super dangerous and I have
been waiting to see what Saleahs Command can do from a sit, has to go in as
expect it to love the soft run. Tip: No5 Our Rhythm N Blues. EQ:3,4,5,10. No
Bet.

R3: Interested to see if Tanaka Eagle has a crack for the
front, Crocodile Kid is crossable. Theo Aviator has to be very hard to beat. If
I was leading I would be happy to hand up to him and try for second. Still a
really big winning chance in the breeze but gives a blowout chance to Back To
The Beach sitting on his back. Tip: No5 Theo Aviator. EQ:4,5. Bet: Back To The
Beach opened up at silly prices, I missed the top price but got a small bet on
at double figures. Theo in a place all up.

R4: Expecting this to be a run on race with the 1,2 and 3
likely to cut each other up early. Of those Argyle Red is the one I give the
most chance to if it could lead. Love Roman Aviator here, straight into the
moving line, move into it whenever Aldo wants, Get on. A bit worried Mighty
Santana might work forward early and spend its tickets, if going back can win.
The other one is Rock Mer Over, grade drop, Jnr back on. Tip: No10 Roman
Aviator. EQ:3,5,6,10. 100% costs $96, probably an over spend. Bet: Roman
Aviator Each Way all day and something small Bee Seventeen because I’d spew up
if he won @$80+ and I wasn’t on.

R5: 1,2 and 3 all have pretty similar early speed. None of
them are that strong so probably won’t want to tussle for too long so Brown
should have no troubles betting Its Rock And Roll to the top. He will be hard
to beat but needs to improve on his last start. Opposed to that While They Pray
was massive last start. Similar to Roman Aviator he can move into it whenever
Voak likes, shows up in the same form can’t see them beating him. Tip: No11
While They Pray. QD:4,11. Bet: While They Prey in the place all up.

R6: Ocean Ridge to cross with James Butt getting up outside
him really easily. From there he can outstay him and hold the others off. Tip:
No6 James Butt. QD:3,6,9. Bet: I’m pretty keen to back James Butt, probably
gets out towards $4. He also goes in the place all up.

R7: Pretty keen on ideal liner to be the last shot at them
in this. How does Caviar Star win this? If it goes to the breeze early one of
the 2 or 3 will run past it but if it doesn’t how does it run over both of
them? Tip: No3 Ideal Liner. QD:2,3. Bet: Ideal Liner Each Way.

R8: Illusionation has been racing well from poor draws, gets
the draw tonight, should be winning. Likely to cop a bit of pressure from La
Sulieman but it shouldn’t be sustained as it should be clear pretty quickly he
can’t get across. Leftrightgoodnight gets a good trip to add to his 1 placing
from his last 1 million and 1 starts. Tip: No1 Illusionation. QD:1,10. 100%
costs $24. Bet: At the prices have to go 1by3 on Leftrightgoodnight.

R9: It’s a great little race the trot, probably worthy of a
spot earlier on the card. A long way from being an expert but I thought of
Balmoral Boy found the top early and possibly handed up to Spud then he could
run a race out in front. Tip No5 Spud. Bet: Going to have a couple od dollars
on Spud.

R10: Would love for it to be competitive to get a better
gauge on where some of these are at but I think Howard Hughes will just take it
up and win. Tip: No5 Howard Hughes. Bet: Try and steal another 5-10% with Howard
Hughes rounding out the place all up.

Hopefully the cricket is all over quickly and some punters head across the river to create a bit of atmosphere for the last few races.

Another cracker six event programme to go toe to toe with Gloucester Park on WA Pacing Cup night. Standing start handicap marks spread throughout every race. Even Call Me Ernie comes off the 60 metre mark. Good luck to Ernie.

Race 1: Four winning hopes - Madam of Mishief, Catch Me Cougar, Joeys Girl and Caruba.

Race 2: Euphoric Moment should win this week, no Allthewaytoroyalty to get past this time, only possible dangers Itsbeenforever and Salome Miss.

Race 3: Rather Sentimental won well last week, the main threats are Henwood Bay, Allthewaytoroyalty and of course the super inform Fight Song going for four consecutive Busselton wins.

Race 4: Tough one will pass on - freodockers you can chime in on this race!

Race 5: Just seven runners but most are some chance. If Cavalry Call can ping to the front might take some running down. Mondooley Mach racing in great heart. Bandar and Captain Prould both chances. Ohako Damo for Emily Suvaljko, and wouldn't leave Sammy out of quaddie selections.
The only one don't like is Hillbilly Time, so could be the one!

Race 6: Another tough one. Rockinthebox and Johny's Grange look hard to beat, but backing two that should be rough a place in the event, pay 1,2 only and clutching at straws with them - American Voodoo and Cherokee Chance. Saying they battle is an understatement, but that's the beauty of Busselton.

R1:Tip:Courage Tells. Bet:Courage Tells EW.EQ:1,2,4. I thought Back To The Beach was quite crossable early. Seems I'm on my own but I thought Warwick would have a good crack at getting over with that opening up option two of dropping in onto the 1's back. JayJays horse Son Of A Tiger should be just off them and will be the closer.

R2: Tip:Pick My Pocket. Bet:Pick My Pocket EW. EQ:1,3,4,5. I expect her to get out in the market and its always fraught with danger backing a sit sprinter at GP but I just thought they might dish it up to her on a plate.

R3: Tip:Miss Sangrial. Bet:Parisian Party Girl 1w/5plc. EQ:1,2,10,11. With Miss Sangrial intending to lead tonight and the likelihood that she will have to get going with horses coming out wide I thought Parisian Party Girl would get a lovely suck along and at worst be running into a hole.

R4: Tip:Gee Jay Kay. Bet:Gee Jay Kay. EQ:1,2,10. 100% costs $144. Again expecting a drift from the early price but really think Gee Jay Kay's class can shine through. When the fields first come out I thought Hy Leexciting would be a great EW bet but he is way to well found in the market. I was on him last week and he was solid through the line but he was disappointing leading previously.

R5: Tip:I'm Soxy. Bet:Something very small EW on I'm Soxy. Very hard race to be confident in. I have been a bit disappointed with Soxy at times this campaign but he is the one in this race that I can be confident in getting a good trip, at least until the 400.

R6:Tip:Mr Sundon. Bet:If I'm going ok something small I'm Not Eyre a place. I know very little about the trotters but I thought I'm Not Eyre might be able to peg up into the placings.

R7: Tip:Regal Ambition. Bet:Regal Ambition win. He needs to find a bit but he was reasonably strong at the end of his last race and leading can win this, if he cops pressure he's probably cactus.

R8: Tip:Joe With The Flow. Bet:Joe With The Flow win. Looks the safest bet of the night and is probably reasonable value just shading into odds on in the couple of markets I have seen.

R9: Tip:Ideal Liner. Bet:Mister Ardee plc. Has to run second but dropping straight behind the fav he will get every chance.

R10: Tip:Black Magic Mara. Bet:Black Magic Mara EW. Pretty keen on him here. I think he can charge over to the front and really run them along. Burning Shadow is the best stepper on the front line but with S Suvaljko off there is always a question mark.

R11: Tip:Iconic Valor. Bet:Jilliby Jake EW. Chasing a bit of value here I didn't think his last run was too bad considering the times, just sitting behind them he will be a bit of a forgotten horse in what looks a pretty entertaining way to round out the program.

Good luck all.

Country summer pacing returns to Busselton, will be tough to replicate the boy's tipping from last night at GP but after watching the first meeting of the round am keen on a few...

Race 1: Odds on fave Flight Song looks the goods on tough win opening night. If to be beaten look for standing start specialist Mondooley Mach or the grinding Bandar to cause the upset.

Race 2: Deadset two horse race, only two winning possibilities - American Voodoo and Euphoric Moment.

Race 3: Tough race, only because 25/1 roughie Tia Amo Bella for a place. Not confident but she was reasonable at long prices on night one.

Race 4: Pass on this one but Suvajlko's on the two faves look hard to beat.

Race 5:Packed Safely the one to beat and Betta Go Bolt no luck last week should've won.

Race 6: Awaitinginstructions - wait for nothing, the biggest certainty ever to go around at Busselton, steps, leads, all over.

Race 7: Just a field of six and grasping at straws but I'm backing Allthewaytoroyalty in novelties to run 2nd or 3rd and better have something small to win at around 20/1, not much good, but getting fitter and might be a fluker's hope!

Win, lose or draw can't wait for another night of driving tactics, telecast and great calling.

Once upon a time, the Freo Cup was a great race...a stand, over the journey and a race on the tip of everyone's tongue down the Cappo strip. The TABtouch pre post market "updated December 30th", or so it says on its site, highlights the disregard for Harness Racing and begs the question as to why anyone would bother putting in a bid for the organisation.

Favourite at $6 is Ride High (almost certainly not coming), Ultimate Sniper (injured and in the paddock for 12 months) is $8, Buster Brady and Bling It On (not coming) at $9, Cruz Bromac (racing in the Auckland Cup tonight and definitely not coming) at $11.....or you may wish to back Wildwest at $26 ....last call, he had been sent to Sydney by the Hall Stable, same price as Jack Mac!!!!

Alta Orlando, referred to as a rising young star on TAB radio this morning....he is an 8 year old....is coming but bad luck, he is not even listed in the pre post market. Perhaps, at today's racing mass, a quick prayer for the TAB.....fancy putting that rubbish up on it's website.

Didn't take long and has rolled around again, good to see lots of standing start veterans continuing their remarkable careers - Maximum Demand being the eldest at 13, with several 9 -12 year olds going around.

Very interesting runner in the first too, it's along way from Cambridge and Alexandra Park NZ to be drawing the one in a stand at Busselton WA, no doubt first few steps off the mark crucial for the well named prepost $1.55 fave Awaitinginstructions by the Kiwi champion, little dynamo Courage Under Fire.

Ten year old Busselton stalwart Captain Proud in great form last summer hollidays also back fresh for another probable shot at the Busselton Cup. Safe beginner and quintessential battler Call Me Ernie arrives, it wouldn't be a standing start meeting without Ernie!

In an era where several country tab and non tab tracks closed down, terrific to see the Busselton tradition continue.

The name Suvaljko sure to be prominent throughout the round.

Something for the "more mature" members of the forum to contemplate as we apparently approach the Christmas Carnival and Trotting Cup. I say "Trotting Cup" because that was what it was called when this gallant fast class mare flew under the radar, raced in its traditional and best timeslot at New Years. Bred by a very prominent country breeder who had great success with some unlikely breeding line ups out in the wheatbelt, my pedigree was certainly nothing to write home about, especially on the dams side. My sire was a local colonial bred champ, also not the greatest of bloodlines, who had hero status amongst the Gloucester Park regulars but who never really threw anything of huge note. Nonetheless, I progressed through the classes and was renowned for my grandstand finishes after showing little early pace, and could stay all day. After reaching fast class, I was a Free For All winner and was placed in races like the Tattersalls Cup and the George Booth Memorial. Perhaps my career best run came in a famous Trotting Cup as a 9 year old....famous for both the depth in the field which contained 3 future Hall Of Fame horses and famous because of the "mixed" reception afforded the winner on return to scale. In this cup, I bungled the start losing about 40 to 50 yards but being over two miles, this wasn't a problem as there were a number of backmarkers spread out over appropriate 12 yard increments, a " proper" handicap as was the order of the day, and the race distance was the stayers journey of 2 miles or 3200m. My driver, renown for his patience, a less charitable view may have included thoughts that he sometimes dozed off in the run, was not phased and saved me up for one last crack, rattling home out wide to grab a stunning 3rd placing, sandwiched in between the 3 future Hall Of Entrants that even a casual student of trotting history could rattle off without prompting.

R1: Good firmer Commander Chapel, i'm going to follow in. He is the class, fitter now, breeze and win.

R2: I'm a sucker for The Trilogy, 3 back the pegs here can give this a good shake as a mid tote bet at bigger odds available than current fixed.

R3: I don't like the odds of both the favs here, out to 2500m again driven ice cold a 1by3 bet for me on Bracken Sky, one of a few I like at odds that some batsmen across the river would be happy with.

R4: Odds suggest Speed Man leads as similar connections to the horse drawn inside him. I was on him last start and was disappointed. I'd rather back Vultan Tin here for his honesty, no idea how he wins it but know he will bedoing his best.

R5: I've taken some cricket score odds about Theo Aviator earlier in the week, 3 back the pegs, will appreciate the 2500m as he is slow to stoke up. The other horse that interest me is Eloquent Mach.

R6: Im Soxy to track Therugo, will need a bit of luck but if he gets it plays a big part.

R7: Another one of my cricket scorers here After Lunch. I just thought they might cook this early and she can scream home over them

R8: On to the next batesman Crocodile Kid. Didn't like the effort of Stefsbest last week after reports of it working well. Just betting on the 1 and 3 maybe having a tussle early but this one really is only for the ashtray money.

R9: Not a lot you can do here is there? Maybe play the 7 and 8 up in the first fours behind the 2 hoping they can out perform those higher up in the markets.

R10: Can Jnr punch Rockmenow to the front? At EW odds i'm happy to back it.

Good punting all.
