Been a teriffic round and tomorrow night is the big one - 2680 metre standing start Busselton Cup. There'll be moves galore - a good beginning and smart tactics crucial.
Odds from Bet365.

Front line
1. Kay Dee Stratton $21
2. Rum Delight $4
3. Our Bobby Dazzler $5
4. Alfs Odyssey $41
Ten Metres.
5. Budd Sidewinder $4
6. Driven $15
7. Tactile Sensation $41
20 metres.
8. Attack On Command $15
9. Danieljohn $3.70
10. Captain Proud $8

He's off 20 metres but around $8 is appealing for Captain Proud - a safe getaway, another clever drive and why not ? He's right in it.
Danieljohn look for a more aggressive drive this week.
Two rough ones don't mind for a place are the experienced campaigners Driven & Attack On Command.

A very even lot - well done to Busselton - it's a handy field.

A few of you guys have either driven/trained/owned or had a bit to do with them - my question is - how difficult is it to get a horse up twice a week ?

Its obviously within the rules. Am a bit ambivalent to it, more just curious to how do you keep a horse in form running twice a week ? It can't be that easy otherwise more would do it.

Only guessing, but for some trainers it must be a complete no-no ? For me - have no firm opinion one way or the other - but it's fascinating.

Noticed in race six tonight Bet365 has Hy Leexciting $2.75 a place from gate one - this horse at Narrogin did a bit of work from gate six - sat outside of the handy Captain Mannering and when straight past him.

There's three major players in the race tonight - then him - but if he tucks in behind one of those guys - then $2.75 looks a great chance for the drum. He's a $16 fourth favourite - just need one of the three faves to crack - and reckon he'll take their position in the placings if he runs up the Narrogin effort.

Did an epic road trip over the weekend.....GP Friday Night, balmy night, handy crowd sitting outside wining and dining. and a good atmosphere. Will need a plastic surgeon to remove the smile on Phil Costello's face, what a job he is doing with Vultan Tin, a great Westbred story and a slashing return from Choc Chai (unfortunately for me lol)

Then, off to Northam for the Cup and the Original Village Kid Sprint.....one of the best presented meetings I have been to ....the roving Microphone Man handing out freebies for the kids...and the adults, great tucker, a vibrant Punters Club, fat crowd, the legend Bill Horn in attendance and some fantastic racing. Aldo sneaking up on the pegs in the Sprint to the delight of the Williams Clan (and JJ's pocket), a 12 out of 10 drive from Junior on The Flying Scotsman, don't see much better than that (and JJ's pocket benefits again) and the win in the Cup by Major Rush, another really good story for Graham Gilbert, home bred, home trained and clever Kyle in the cart. Hats off to Northam Harness Racing, a great night.

And finally, Sunday grassroots racing at Bridgetown where an 11 year old maiden breaks through for Daryl Miller....yes, it is a lower class of horse but the locals turn out in brilliant weather, old acquaintances renewed, a spot on drive from Trent Wheeler on the tricky to handle Natural Temptation.

Rest day, feet up today .....the encouraging thing for me was the number of patrons in attendance at all 3 meetings...yes, it is that time of the year but we really need to foster the provincial and community circuits, great work to all the volunteers, track crew, club helpers etc that keep it all afloat. One complaint...caravans doing 70km/hr in the passing lanes but there are worse things in the world, aren't there?

The roughie Major Rush gets the spoils for Kyle Harper, been following them awhile and after seeing him extract Kaptain Kenny out of a pocket to surge home and win at GP and now Major Rush, think this fellow is going to be one of the best drivers in the state in years to come.

He can get a roughie or two home. Light in the spider with good reflexes.

Just under two weeks until the time honoured Hunter Cup - would be good if the top twelve in the betting all ran, in that case, just for the moment, My Field Marshall would be the rank outsider.

Tabtouch top 12
1. Tiger Tara $4
2. The Fixer $4
3. Spankem $6
4. Cruz Bromac $7
5. I'm Pats Delight $9
6. San Carlo $11
7. Star Galleria $13
8. Our Uncle Sam $13
9. Wrappers Delight $15
10. Buster Brady $15
11. Galactic Star $21
12. My Field Marshall $26

Top 3 in betting look the goods. Will be surprised if Cruz Bromac, I'm Pats Delight, San Carlo the next three in betting win.
Those three guys have the job ahead of them. Especially Pat & Carlo.
Cruz Bromac a fraction dissapointing in the Ballarat Cup.

Unsure if Star Galleria is arriving but he's a very good Kiwi horse. Has impressed often in the land of the long white cloud and wouldn't be out of it from a favourable draw.

Next one in betting the Inters runner up Our Uncle Sam has been a bit average since the final.
