My thoughts on the night for what they are worth as I haven't been following it closely of late.

R1:Not alone in thinking Courage to Live finds the top and wins. Not sure if that is with the stable mate Bravo Tex or Nitro Lad on its back. Suspect the 1 could kick up and get that spot if they want to but its probably also best if they come out as easy as possible to still have something left at the finish. Good luck jayjay with Neighlor. Should get forward and then maybe some cover from Tyler Brett. Hopefully Mista Shark makes his move late so you don't get shuffled back.
Bet: I'm playing first fours: 3/1,2,8/1,2,8/1,2,4,5,7,8,9,10. Then rotating them around.

R2: I thought Lenny could be vulnerable. He's already got maximum points, just sit him up and work him home. Really hoping Tanaka has a red hot dip early, wouldn't be surprised if Brown could catch Tritton napping. Galactic Star will get the lovely run and was good Friday. Jambiani was also a nice soft run Friday, it could open up early for him and he can be dangerous. I'm playing the boilover, Yayas might just get a soft lead and Lenny come round and sit outside it as the market predicts but i'm hopeful that we see competitive racing.
Bet: Stacked place bet Galactic Star, small EW Jambiani

R3: Bull and Tribecca are probably a bit far apart in the market. I thought it was a good FF race those two first and second, Vultin Tin Simply Susational 3rd and 4th. They aren't going to get the best trips in the race but on the first nights runs they are going far superior to the rest of the field.

R4: On Fridays runs Tiger Tara has to be a massive chance to lead throughout and again upset the Lazarus camp. There is just no need for them to go full bore yet, yes they are $70000 races but there is a big goal in mind. Taking on San Carlos as I think the driver may get lost, The Bucket List, Our Jimmy Johnstone and Major Crocker look the pegs horses and Motu Premier the run on horse from the moving line.
Bet: FF:1/6/2,4,8,9/2,4,8,9.

R5: I thought that between Assasinator, Master Jaxon and Talktomeyourmajesty they might just over do it early here. I've taken a little bit of the big odds Braeview Bomber and hoping that Maximum Demand gets out to a bit bigger odds. This guy is flying and will be rocketing home Talktomeyourmajesty obviously has to be the one to beat but there is just no value there.
Bet: EW Braeview Bomber, Maximum Demand. Novelties around 4,5,10.

R6: I'm sitting this one out, should be a good race, Sokys again looks the value.

R7: Bettor Reward and Three Blind Mice look unders to me, I thought Johny Disco might actual speed across to the top. Again i'm working on them over doing it early. Skippy Rascal is absolutely flying, will get a lovely trip and will be around 20/1. Might not have the class of some of the others in this but he is going to well to ignore.
Bet: Skippy Rascal EW.

R8: Another sit out race to finish although maybe something very small the place old mate Charlie El at the double figure odds.

I'm very much punting on the drivers showing similar intent to last Friday night, if not i'm in a lot of trouble. One collect though should be enough to cover my night.

Good luck all.

The little girl Bonsu goes around in the final race...a last start winner over the 1684 mobile , to a 2631 metres standing start today. This nine year old mare is versatile. Distance doesn't really matter with her she just goes the one bat from go to whoa. One of the few horses have seen that's still going the same pace as the rest are pulling up!

The trouble today is she can lead early but all drivers are aware that she will hand up for the easy trail..then a problem is if a couple of them in turn hand up she can be pushed three and four back the pegs.

Not for me but will be barracking hard for her to run a place. Chris Lewis has got the job ahead of him, for her to run a drum...but not a bloke to say it can't be done.

Plenty of comment about the 3 Inters heats but how about the support card....the Mares Classic and the 4YO Classic are absolutely oozing class, sensational line ups.
In the Mares race, the exposed form and quality of the field has high quality horses like Tricky Styx, Major Reality, Dodolicious, Eden Franco and My Rona Gold going around at prices they haven't started at for ages. Tricky at 10/1 is probably unders but from the draw and given her record, she is a chance, Eden Franco and Major Reality (both at $26),Dodo at $41 and Rona at $51 ....Ameretto and Picadilly are deservedly shorter and Alic from the 1 are all the hardest to beat but what a race. Lining up the form is almost impossible. Will have an interest bet but have no idea...Quite A Delight at $81, a price I'd suggest she has never ever started at, no where near it. Field so strong that Macczaffair is taking on the boys in the 4YO Classic.

If Ultimate Machete has travelled and recovered okay, he wins the "boys" race but if he hasn't, then its game on again. Wrappers Delight has a lot of class for a $23 shot, Herrick drawn to get a good run and Rocknroll Lincoln in great touch....and that leaves out horses like Motu, Handsandwheels, Rock Diamonds and I',m Rockaria...another potentially ripper race.
Value available in race 8, the Kersley Final and if you are still standing by the last, there is a really nice Tritton horse going around but trying to find novelties around him is a nightmare.
Best program I have seen as far as depth goes for ages and you could do far worse tonight than heading to the track.

Was doing a bit of reading today. Can a bargain buy that can win the Inters? well, history suggests yes is the answer. Everyone pretty well knows about some celebrated bargains of the past....Pure Steel purchased for $2400 as a yearling, the top horse that Steelo crushed the spirit out of, Rip Van Winkle just $2200 as a yearling, Mount Eden reputedly purchased for $600, top NSW horse who raced with success in WA Bold Biami just $500 and Mister Karamea just $5,000, not bad for a world record holder as a 2 year old.
Interdominion winner First Lee, yes, he had luck on his side but won nevertheless, cost just $1,000. But it gets better....1957 Inters Champ Radiant Venture was purchased as a 2 year old for just 150 pound. And speaking of pounds, the immortal Globe Derby..... whose original name was Cyril C.....was onsold more often than Telstra shares. First sale, just 25 guineas (1 guinea was 1 pound 1 shilling), then onsold for 90 guineas, then 150 guineas and finally for $375 guineas before he stood at stud (with a 2.8 MR life time record...remarkable in 1910) and changed the face of the Australian Standard bred forever.
Ayr, the mighty dam of 1939 Inters winner Springfield Globewho went on to sire 1955 winner Tactician, cost just 37 and a half guineas.

But the gold medal for bargains is a no brainer. Adistar, the dam of mighty South Australian champ Minuteman, winner of the 1964 Inters at the Melbourne Showground, was sold in foal for 17 guineas.....the foal she was carrying was Minuteman and footage of his win in Melbourne is attached.
17 guineas would barely buy you a pint and a pie at GP on the night of the Grand Final.

Ive got a Tab.com and Tabtouch betting acct- had both of them for decades

Any how i get an email from Tab.Com today reading as follows

" We are writing to advise you will not be eligible to use our Multiplier nor our promotions - which include bonus bet and cash promotions - but you will still have access to your betting acct "

The Multiplier is simply - you can chose 1 bet a day - you hit the multiplier button and it can give you an extra - might be 10 - 15 or 50% extra whatever

Im not here to inform what ive won or lost - and i back plenty of longshot losers - but to give you an example - Cranbourne Sat night - i backed 2 $61 chances in the one race - Exotic Guy was one of them - had $20 E/W on both of them ( both unplaced ) hit the multiplier button and it came up with 50% - so if EGuy had won i would have got $91 odds - thats how it works

Anyhow Mon night at Bendigo trots in the last race i had $10 the win and $2 place - on Justalittlebitgreek at $51 the win and $6 the place - hit the multiplier Button - it came up 15% extra - it flucked winning - so i got odds of 57.5 to 1 - an extra $75 in the collect

Anyhow i ring up customer service ( because the email i got said if your not happy about it - then ring them ) the woman said to me ( you losing your rights etc ) its got nothing to do with you winning at Bendigo - i - i can assure you of that sir - i said to her - whats the reason then - she said ive got your acct on the screen - and the notes say - that you have demonstrated a consistent pattern of behaviour of exploiting the Multiplier - i said to her thats offensive - ive exploited nothing - i got a lousy $75 extra from you - well she said - put your complaint in writing - which i intend doing - what a blooody joke - Ive read alot of complaints about Bet365 - but i reckon Tab.Com give them a run for their money !1

By the way if you want to watch a hilarious race - watch the last at Bendigo Monday night - a restricted race - Josh Duggan ( who drives just like S McDonald - quiet - on the pegs - not an aggressive bone in his body ) absolutely butchers - cooks - slaughters his drive - 3 and 4 wide ripping into the leaders - so end result anything could win - and anything did win

My "spy" at Perth Airport reports:

21 pacers, 19 gallopers (including the 5 "returning home") arrived safe and sound. San Carlo looked in great shape, keep in mind as a qualifier for the final. No pics were allowed.
I don't know much about the quality of the arriving gallopers but do know the best pacer in the Southern Hemisphere, maybe in the world, lobbed in good order and also suspect that it is a national secret and any reporting of "Lazarus rising" is restricted to John Howard's comment about 20 years ago. Perhaps when the barrier draw is done for the heats there may be a line or two in my about to be unsubsrcibed copy of "The West"

Keeping an eye on weather, hoping it doesn't rain on the parade. Very, very interesting field for the $50k Bunbury Cup and the $14k Bob Humphries Memorial (think "Trunkey", think of the outstanding contribution of the Humphries when they established their operation at Northcliffe and all of the outstanding horses they bred). Natural Disaster returns, Johnny Disco, Sokys Big Bullet, Bettor Reward and many other chances...2600m and a charge off the gate.
Great history in the Bunbury Cup....Our Jimmy Johnstone, Beaudiene Boaz, Bettors Fire (twice), Quinny, MMM, No Blue Manna (twice),Justaboyden, Whitbys Miss Penny, Village Kid, Casey Otara, Pallaton, Rio Butler, Yankee Rhythm, No Dill (twice)....and my favourite Den Helder ($$$$)
Perhaps down in quality a little with the Inters just around the corner but a most intriguing contest. If Sokys leads, expect him to be there for a long time.
For anyone heading to the track, weather seems tidy enough at the moment.

This guy comes from a family of pacing identities.

Three from the 1980s.
2. Also from a harness family..his father was one of the best ever..his sisters could drive too.

3. A driver that will always remember being a young driver because retired from the game at a very young age.

4. Another reinsman not around for long...his father also was a wonderful driver. He may have even driven against him.

Now to the 1970s.
5. Not driving now but could be! His son on a good path and driving well.

6. Even just for longevity he's a marvel.

Need luck and the right drives but these nine WA winners in 41 years all fully deserving. They also made their own luck.

Hands up if you know where Gunbower is? JJ's hand shot straight up....never ever heard of the place. Turns out its a town of 252 people and has a club that first raced in 1881 on a track opposite the Pub (location, location, location!!!) Situated way up north in Victoria on the banks of the Murray. Races twice a year, today was the $14k Gunbower Pacing Cup and the $12k Gunbower Trotters Cup on a 1250m track inside the gallops track ....gallops only race once a year it seems. Watched them today, albeit it was a bit dusty, they mightn't have a water truck...Cup went to Brocks Territory and Morvah rewrote the track record to 1.54.5 in the last. What was really brilliant was seeing Chris Alford drive 4 winners, lots of support from leading trainers and drivers even though it is (for Victorian standards) a long trek. Seems the Vics have a very good formula for keeping country trotting alive and well, looked to be a terrific day of racing for the locals....might have to add it to the list for my next country odyssey.....well, maybe not but heartening to see the racing today.

The indifference of the The West Australian towards harness racing is very alarming. This morning's edition (I get the early "country edition, the city edition may be different) is a good example. Possibly the best pacer in the world Lazarus, the "Winx" of harness racing if you like, wins NZ's Premier race for the 2nd time, amassing millions in prizemoney in the process, he is heading to Perth for the Interdominion Series, he could be a huge draw card, along with Australia's toughest competitor Lennytheshark, competing in a million dollar plus series ......and not a word or even a result in the racing pages. A cut and paste from Melbourne about Yulong Xingsheng, hardly a household name, sits alongside a deserved coverage of the upcoming major races at Ascot and whilst I wish Ben Paterson all the best on his career shift to Murray Bridge. the total lack of harness coverage is deplorable. There is a stellar field of 4 year olds contesting the Golden Nugget prelude on Friday night, leading in to the 200k final on Inters Grand Final night and it seems it is a state secret. Perhaps they are planning a feature series of articles in the near future but those that try to promote the series down at Gloucester Park must get very frustrated at the total lack of coverage in the states only daily newspaper.
Lazarus is an absolute super star, perhaps one of the best ever. The series is here for the last time, the program for Grand Final night rivals anything that Australian Harness racing could put together.....and yet we get absolutely zilch support from the West....it's an outrageous situation.

Good meeting keen on a few races.

Race 1. They both did the right thing by me a couple of weeks ago...tomorrow night they should be both around $3.50 a place...definetly one of them could sneak a place..#1. Sanford Tilly and #5. Imalittlehorse. Hopefully at least one of them gets a soft run and runs the drum.

Race 4. A PTT favourite...will be long odds on, but little fish are sweet..watch one of the best drivers at getting horses away fast from the mobile, then rate them to perfection. #3. Neighlor/Shannon Suvaljko..blink once...blink twice..straight to the front game over.

Race 5. Like this race...now Tisadream and Space Junk should be that far in front of the rest that they will be hosed down and back in their stall before the rest come into the straight.

Brilliant beginner #1. Tisadream...draws the coveted one gate..outstanding effort to dead heat with Walkinshaw GP midweek. Drawn directly behind is former Victorian horse #7. Space Junk...the races saw him run in Victoria he's all quality. Like him immensely. Chris Voak and Space Junk will be smoking the pipe and will definetly give Tisadream a race. An event worth seeing this one.

Barring unforeseen circumstances ( it is Narrogin always been a bit of a tricky track ) those two are head and shoulders above the rest...but the trick is who'll run third ? For me #8. Three Pints perfectly drawn in the eight to angle in and be three back the pegs behind Tisadream and Space Junk. My play is trifecta 1,7...1,7..8 and much smaller on 1,7..8..1,7. If after they settle down they are the first three on the pegs...get in the que. If they aren't...Houston we have a problem.
