Barrier 1 and has good gate speed but never thought would see the day where he would be favourite at headquarters. Would be great to see Barry Giudice get the money on second favourite Oaksana Boy and be interesting to know his last GP winner. Been driving for decades.

The winning drivers to make up the Quaddie were Grantham , Lewis and Callan Suvaljko ( x 2 ) no better 3 drivers going around. One was odds on, another a clear cut favourite, the other second favourite then there was Lewis..dividend a tick over $2500. Remarkable dividend and also once again for the umpteenth time it was Lewis who helps to provide the massive payout. The number of times he's driven the longest priced winner of the day/night also amazing.

One ( good ) thing about Northam is that it can supply some long priced winners. Always tricky as. Just looking prepost on some prices and what look to be reasonable odds on a few.
Race 2. The Storm Chief @$6.50 had zero luck lately. On a 2 wins 5 places basis should at least run the drum.
Race 5. Difficult race from the stand..The Black Lord @$12 great price again..rejuvenated horse first run back when won at double figures. Did the job well.
Glow Bright @$12 can fly the stand. If happens to lob close maybe a chance. Rusty Rockets a last start winner at Pinjarra is at @$26. Tough off 20 metres but like the $26. But if Grantham lobs in front with favourite Donegal Chokin it could be game over.
Race 6. Stablemate of The Black Lord...Borntobeanartist @$6 also excellent effort first up...awkward gate from the 6 but with the right run and one crack at them can win. Mosquito Buzzin @$8 looks a hope too.

Some have said at one point I was the biggest trot bookie in Australia. As well as having the common touch with battlers I also dealt with millionaires and the occasional billionaire. Anybody attending Gloucester Park and Richmond Raceway throughout the 80s and 90s will remember me, a familiar face on my stand. After 25 years as a bookmaker I retired in 2001.
No surprise that R.Williams got a holiday for causing a bit of chaos in race 8 Friday Night....tightened up Tommy Be Good and there was a chain reaction. Initially thought that 14 days was a soft penalty......but further reading says he has not EVER been suspended in 8 years of driving with over 3700 driving engagements.....an honorable record indeed. Cynics might suggest he doesn't try hard enough if he hasn't ever been suspended. Others may think that excellent records should not be taken into consideration when evaluating a driving offense and that he got off lightly in spite of his record??? I won't sit on the fence...should have got 28 days......but I understand why he didn't. I wonder if those who backed the horses that got cleaned up have a similar level of understanding? Regardless, I backed Tommy and he got a pie run after all that went on and still went really ordinary in spite of the very hot pace. Might have been different had he lead and not got chopped off.
