Spotted that former trainer (trots and gallops) Lester Ayres passed away last week. Lester had a tyre shop in Belmont for decades with Robin Zec as his wheel allignment man. Plenty of stories told and debates had in that workshop I can tell you. Lester was never, ever short of an opinion but I always found him straight to the point, fair, good natured and amusing. I bought plenty of tyres off him over the years. He had a very good pacer called Drumcycler with Trevor Warwick who could have been anything but broke down. Was a star in the making. At the gallops, I am not so familiar but I thing he had a decent horse called Square something which raced very well. He hailed from up Millendon way and was until recently hanging around at Mike Reed's stable.

Looking forward to the return to headquaters. Some early markets are up to punt on.

R4 Rich Yankee is $2.60 with sportsbet. Being a 100 000 race there should be a bit of a tussle for the lead creating enough speed for him to sprint over them.
R5 Gunna Get Lucky looks like it has plenty of ability to me and happy to have something on at $41/$7. Will need a bit of luck as i'm not exactly sure where it gets in the run but Brown can sort that out!
R6 I don't think Isaiah Artois is the best horse in the race but $8 with sportsbet for the likely leader who can run quick quarters is well wirth a bet ew.
R8 At $51/$17 With 365 if they happen to go silly This Time Dylan is a massive blowout chance.

Bit of an interest for the day.

R1: Think Topeless Beachgirl has drawn to get a nice run out in front and with it she will run well, much more chance than last week. Problem is I just think Dame Puissant is better than her and will well and truly measure up to city grade. I'll be playing the quin small.
R3: Initially after seeing That's Rite draw 8 again and it opening up $2.50 I was really keen to take it on. Without going in depth I thought ability wise Lombo Supremo might be the one to back. Having a bit better look though to my eye Funky Peters looks the likely leader which will give That's Rite the lovely run. Be interesting to see what Jones does early after getting bailed away on That's Rite last week, she may elect to just drag straight back and look to go around. If it where me I'd back in Funky Peters to take me into it and at $31 and $5 backing Funky Peters is exactly what i'm going to do. His form reads putrid so I wont be smashing him but watching his one win he was mighty impressive leading throughout and gets his chance to do that here. Has been money for Rigatoni who is the class dropper and I guess they think he will lead but I think he will end up being the horse doing the work. Funky Peters worth a speck, might get brained but could pull one out.
R4 Thought Kristen Louise might hold up which would bring Secret Dragon right into it as an EW bet but will be waiting for the market to sort itself out in the minutes before the race as a guide to how it might be run.
R5: In a race where to me there doesn't look an obvious leader i'm predicting some speed setting it up for swoopers. Robbie Williams horses are flying and Calais is a real talent, I'm willing to take a punt that it can sprint well fresh off the back of a good speed. Change Stride the obvious one to beat but I said I want to see it again and it has drawn 8, I would be happy to back Ryan Warwick in though to get it a good trip. Sir Tosti Mach 21 into 7, someone thought it was worth 50EW, 2nd up after a long absence be interesting to see how it goes.
R6: Waylade obviously a very good horse returning adds interest to this.
R7:Paramedic is a real rough one and has absolutely no form BUT he is a horse that can win off absolutely no form. at 50/1 over the sprint trip with K harper back on I expect him to really give them something to catch.....or get beaten 50m plus.
R8: Gathering Gears was a real flashing light run the other day and at $21 with AC Lews on I'm going to have something on with the idead that he will get away well and then hand up to something that will take him into it. Give Me Chills comes with the recent runs on the board which is always a plus but you can leave me out if the $1.40. Bettor Party has been an interesting runner of late and with the switch to Reed I suspect he will get away and be charging forward. I'm loving the switch of Cyclone Mitch to T Svilicich, in time I expect him to be the next Svilicich money making machine.

Nothing I'd be loading up anyone's acc on let alone my own, they may all absolutely flop but I just thought at odds there were a few worth having a bit of a punt on.

RWWA Stewards yesterday, inquired into the report from the ChemCentre in Perth that arsenic in excess of the threshold of 0.30 μg/mL in urine had been detected in a sample taken from IP GAME OF CHANCE NZ after competing and winning in Race 3 at Kalgoorlie on 13 September 2012.

The sample relates to a stored sample from a batch of such samples that have been analysed at the direction of the Stewards as part of on-going screening of stored samples.

This finding has been verified by the National Measurements Institute (NMI) in Sydney.

Evidence was taken from Mr Geoff Johnson RWWA Investigator, Dr Judith Medd RWWA Industry Veterinarian, James White ChemCentre Analyst and the Trainer of IP GAME OF CHANCE NZ Mr Noel Keiley.

The inquiry resulted in the following charges and penalties being imposed.

1. HRR190(1) & (2) Presentation free of prohibited substances with the particulars of the charge being “that Mr N Keiley as the trainer at the relevant time, presented IP GAME OF CHANCE NZ to race in Race 3 at Kalgoorlie on 13 September 2012 with the prohibited substance arsenic, evidenced by a concentration of arsenic in excess of 0.30 microgram per millilitre in urine. Penalty: Six Months Disqualification
2. HRR 194 Holding of Drugs with the particulars of the charge being “that Mr N Keiley had in his possession the preparation Caco Copper injection which he had acquired via the internet and that it wasn’t at that time a registered substance in compliance with relevant State and Commonwealth legislation. Penalty: $300 fine.
The six month disqualification is to be served cumulatively with the existing period of disqualification being served and accordingly Mr Keiley is now disqualified until 27 November 2017.

In determining the penalties the Stewards took into account;
 Mr Keiley’s prior record summarised as
 1995 Disqualified for 12-months in relation to the prohibit substance Boldenone.
 2010 Disqualified for 6-months for the improper practice of intending to administer a TCO2 elevating susbstance to a horse prior to racing.
 2014 Disqualified for 2-years for administering an alkalinising agent to BRAEVIEW BOMBER prior to it racing.*
 2014 Disqualified for 2-years for presenting BRAEVIEW BOMBER to race with a level of TCO2 in excess of 36.0mm/L in plasma.*
 2014 Disqualified for 2 years for stomach tubing BRAEVIEW BOMBER at 5.00pm on the day of the race it was engaged in at 8.05pm.*
(* Total period of penalty to be served was two years and six months)

 Mr Keiley’s personal circumstances and the fact that he was already disqualified until 27 May 2017.
 Mr Keiley’s co-operation with the inquiry and that the source of the elevated arsenic reading was the product Caco Copper injection which he had been routinely using unaware that it contained sodium cacodylate which was a form of arsenic
 That the horse’s level was classified as being in the mid-range at 0.61 micrograms/mL

 In relation to the possession of an unregistered preparation, penalties under this rule or its commensurate rule in the other codes, have included heavy fines and/or disqualifications. In view of the significant penalties Mr Keily is already serving, including the additional 6-months disqualification imposed as a result of this latest matter, the Stewards deemed it appropriate to significantly discount the fine that might otherwise have applied.
Stewards remind trainers once again that samples taken from racing animals are potentially subject to long term storage and subsequent analysis from which charges may follow if prohibited substances are detected as applied in this case.

Stewards would also strongly warn any persons against acquiring any medications, but particularly injectables, for use in racing animals, via the internet that are not registered medications in Australia.

Trainers are reminded that it is an offence to possess, procure or use any substances or preparations that have not been registered, labelled, prescribed, dispensed or obtained in compliance with relevant State and Commonwealth legislation and there is the potential for significant penalties to apply, including disqualification or heavy fines, if such rules are breached.

Media Contact: Denis Borovica – General Manager Racing Integrity Ph: 9445 5427 denis.borovica@rwwa.com.au

I've been a mile of it for a while now but as they say if you believe in the process and follow through results will follow!

R5 @3.07PM sees 3 very good up and coming horses going around. Had a note next to Royal Mach saying he could be a very good one, after his last run I have no reason to doubt that. I am happy to take the $4.20 and $1.73 available at them moment but with other runners in form in the race from prominent stables there is a chance better will be available. Is a versatile horse so 12 doesn't bother me and will have others around him that should help him get into the race, plus McDonald is a very good young driver. Muscle Torque was fantastic after an 18 month lay off, the horses he beat have some talent but he did get his chance to do it, interesting to see how he goes here from the 11. The other is 9 Heez about to rock who was strong last week against some more mature rivals only getting zapped late by the in form Blacknsweet Adda in a quick quarter of the type of run she loves. If you box these three in the quin (9,11,12) and back Royal Mach win and place (place to cover your win bet) I can't see us going wrong.

Other things of note:

R1:A good one for the 2yr olds, nice to see the numbers starting to pick up a bit. At other times i'd be tempted to back the 4 Cara Evelyn at the $11 as she clearly has talent but as i'm out of form i'll leave it as the 4 draw could be a trap for her.
R3: I've been waiting for a race where Ariki is drawn to lead but at $1.40 you can count me out!
R4: Similar to R1 the $13 Machulbetchu would tempt me at other times but I'm not 100% convinced she will get into the race, there is a chance one of Lies A Lot or Bailey's Gold could get a soft lead and that's curtains to the 10. There's almost as much chance as they along with Confederate Lady may have a bit of speed duel and put it on for her. I'll be waiting for the day Lies A Lot draws to get a nice cold sit (hopefully at a price) before I back her.
R6: There could actually be a speed battle early between the 1 and 2 here which might see the leader collapsing and setting it up for a swooper. Having been a victim to the horse before his current vein of form is a bit of a surprise but 12 Leftrightgoodnight is flying and is racing so genuinely. Don't want to back him at $3.50 drawn 12 over the mile but if he happened to get out to somewhere neat the $4.80 I'd be happy to play. I see some money for the new Hall runner That's Right, brings with it a strong overall record but poor recent Mildura form which is usually not very strong. The 1 horse does have gate speed so it "may" get it to the sprint lane but my money is that it wont and the 8 will be in trouble.
R7: New Bond runner Change Of Stride adds interest to the race.
R8:Red Check Raider is surprisingly short, Swimbetweentheflags was stronger than I had been giving him credit for last time out I'm happy to have something on at the $2.15.

Good luck anyone playing Pini tomorrow.

Sign In is available at $35 for race 3 tomorrow. Not saying it's a living certainty but it is racing well and with a stablemate drawn 1 I'm happy to have something on for an all the way win alla Local Rogue last week.

I thought The Black Lord had sneaky place claims at $14 thinking Erskine Range will be held out so he could have the lovely trip throughout.

The fast class race should be good to watch.

I'm keen to take a punt that Indomitable can stay in front of Liberty Belle throughout, wouldn't be hopeless if she did end up trailing.

Vapour has been racing well and can play a big part from the draw, he's probably my best all though keen Sign In as a punt as prrviously mentioned and finish off with Right Hand (no pun intended) enjoying the cushy rails run at$21.

Just browsing the fields and noticed Jaccka Murphy slots into race 3 as a $2k claimer.

Maybe someone here knows something I don't about the gelding but that seems unders for a 7yo C6 M1 who only 4 starts ago won a M0 at GP. At that assessment there is still plenty about for him (although admittedly the M1 does make it tougher). Get 10 mates together, chuck in $200 each and find a trainer to go 50/50 and you might just find yourself having some cheap fun.

Can't recall a pacer winning from 70m handicap in recent times as OJJ did today at Pinjarra. At the risk of offending some who think I just live in the past (and subsequently know nothing of the modern era), it was a common enough thing in days gone by. Comet Again won at Richmond Raceway from 72 yards for Mick Ward. Anyway, a fair effort from OJJ.

Hi All,

I was wondering if there was an outfit that specialises in WA Greyhounds meeting videos/replays?

I am aware that everything is available online here (http://www.greyhoundswa.com.au/latest-news/),
but I was after the footage that used to be sold on a meeting-by-meeting basis
by a bloke outside the course in a Mr Whippy-type van (here in Vic, 20+ years
ago from memory).

I'm more after the vision (close-up) of the dogs as they jump, front on, from all
starting boxes (for instance: all Mandurah starts on the publically available
footage is side-on). In my mind it's stewards cameras or something similar? NZ
greyhound racing also has the footage that (I think) I'm after.

Thanks to anyone that can point me in the right direction, or nip (my chase for this vision) in the bud pretty quickly if it doesn't exist.

Cheers.
