    I take it back :(

Out of pure coincidence I just spoke to an American friend and he said that he has the worse legs ever put on a horse and he means ever.

He recommends anyone thinking of using him to inspect him first and see for themselves.

Apparently he worked publicly many times as we call it, but he had another name for it and he still never got to a race and he told me that a son of Storm Cat that's unraced in America rings alarm bells.

He had 30 published works, and yet never ran.

    Works for CITY PLACE, 2000:

I have happened to see City Place on two occasions. To say he has the worst legs ever put on a horse? I will say that is mindless, are they 100% correct? No they aren't but they are no worse than a few of what we have here. Would I send my mare? Yes yes yes.

"A son of Storm Cat, he has built up a superb 82% winning strike-rate since retiring to stud in Florida."
"City Place has sired 8 stakes winners for earnings of $8.31 million ..."

Obviously will have to check this out -  however if this is correct who cares if he only has three legs - seems he may not be passing "bad legs" on

I'm not trying to discredit he's achievements as a sire but only passing on what I was told then a quick look on an American forum I found very similar comments???

I'm sure people are grown up enough to make there own decision and research.

You can compare stallions that have served here in Australia against City Place and get a perspective of just were they all sit.

    Hope it helps.

Having not seen the horse I won't comment on his conformation I will wait until I see any progeny but as a example Mr Prospector did not have good conformation but he has proven that it's not all about conformation as he is a supersire.
Plus his conformation faults may not be his fault having worked for a couple of studmasters who did not care about young horses legs until it was too late some getting their first hoof trim just before the sales totally zonked out on drugs.
Personally I get any of mine sorted out before they are 3 months old and then maintain them.

    Cheaper by the dozen?

Seriously does it work in WA....Moysater and ...come on Touchstone promote your Storm Cat, hows he going?

Why did nt he grab Glass Harmoniun when he was being touted around? Now THAT would have been interesting.

Second sire from Florida, is there something there. Is this helpful for wa breeding? Would love to know their reasoning.

And Wow to your insight Dale re the farrier work, no wonder we might feel a little worked over as buyers!

Bring him in and see what he can do, no harm in trying. Any new blood is a good idea in my book. Its good that we have options.
