    In the Hurricanes v Heat game, the bowlers ended up with more 50s than the batsmen (Steketee 1/50, Feldman 1/53 and Tait 1/54). Impressive batting by Dan Christian 56* (24) and Chris Lynn 101 (51). Second innings in a row where Lynn has scored over half the runs for the Heat.

    First 10 wicket win ever in the BBL by Perth Scorchers tonight.

    Also the highest target chased down in all T20s without losing a wicket, 0/171 (previous record 166 by Barisal v Royals, Dhaka, 2012).

    Second BBL team to win by 10 wickets, Sixers (0/124) beat Lions, T20 Champions League Final, Johannesburg, 2012.

    Unless there are some unexpected international call ups, the Scorchers will be primed at the business end. Them and the Thunder (!) looking likely

    Interestingly, Chris Gayle and Brad Hogg played in both these games.

    Gayle scored 101* (44) for Barisal Burners in their successful run chase, Barisal winning with 41 balls remaining. Brad Hogg bowled three overs (0/27) for Sylhet Royals.

    Last night's win by the Scorchers was the 10th time in the BBL where a team has won by 9+ wickets.

    The Scorchers have now done it 6 times, including their last 3 games in a row.

    1/118 (15.1) v Heat
    0/171 (18.4) v Renegades
    1/114 (14.3) v Sixers

    Adelaide Strikers (3-1) v Perth Scorchers (3-1), 4:40 WST

    Should be a cracker of a game this evening at Adelaide Oval with the winner to go to the top of the ladder.

    Batting wise, both teams have scored at 8.11 RPO during BBL05.
    Scorchers have only lost 8 wickets in 4 games compared to Strikers 25.

    The difference however is with the bowling, Scorchers have been restricting sides to only 6.96 RPO during BBL05 as opposed to the Strikers 8.05 RPO.

    Scorchers batting first 0-1, batting second 3-0
    Strikers batting first 1-1, batting second 2-0

    Scorchers BBL05 Bowling Stats

    Heat (2-5) playing Stars (4-2) tonight at the MCG. Stars won the toss and bowling first.

    Heat can still mathematically make the finals, need Sixers to just win & Strikers to beat Renegades. It's highly unlikely though, as the Heat to get their NRR ahead of the Renegades current NRR, Heat would need to win by around 113 runs (assuming a full 20-over game, weather permitting).

    For the Scorchers to secure a top 2 finish and host a 5th semi final in a row, they need to either:
    ☆ Win the game;
    ☆ If they lose batting 2nd, lose by 39 runs or less;
    ☆ If they lose batting 1st, don't let the Stars reach the target before (approx):
    100 - 14.2 overs
    110 - 14.4 overs
    120 - 15 overs
    130 - 15.2 overs

    Renegades have won the toss and are bowling first. If my abacus is right, for the Renegades to finish fourth ahead of the Thunder, they will need to chase down the target before between 14.2 overs (target 100) and 16.4 overs (target 200).
