i would be interested to see how many horses head east from our sale. I would say it would be less than 20 all up but im happy to be proven wrong.

    341 I Am Invincible filly
    258 Medaglia d'Oro colt
    381 Star Witness colt

All look good in their pics.

I certainly won't be shopping. Especially given the uncertainty over the TAB and future funding distribution

Short term usually get what they think is a good deal funk , its when that deal expires when the company who invested in it want higher returns on investment that hurt the industry

Jimmy Taylor bought a few in NSW. So did Parnham who will be without the full backing of his No 1 client this year.
One thing you can be sure is P Jordan will be buying Orotorios

occasionally full siblings both perform well, more often than not though that is not the case.

    The 1/2 by King Cugat - 14-0-0-0
    The 1/2 by Beneteau - 5-3-0-0

    :-??

Might be the sale topper and unfortunately don't have 25% of that.

Could probably end up with 5 lawn mowers from here for that OR a nice future Melb Cup winner from the upcoming Adelaide sales ;)

Looking through pages of good families, most dam's throw good horses from multiple sires and those that have gone exclusively to one sire or two seemingly don't do as well.

Not sure if its just the photo but the onside hind fetlock/below appears very upright , gauging by the railing does look very tall for a yearling

Good luck to all the vendors tomorrow. I hope all the time and money invested pays off. Except for the 1 lot i end up getting involved with. I hope that one goes for cost price :)

Lot 22 and 23 from De Grey Park passed in for 64k and 52.5k respectively. Lot 23 Gingerbred Man ex Lady Wild very interesting given it was bought at the Geisel Park Despersal for 6k. I would have thought that a 45k profit over 4 months would have been a good result?

Still a few passed in early on in the sale??? I thought this was a sale to meet the market?

Looks like a blood bath for breeders IMO
If only we had 2yo ready to run sales and I wasn't stuck miles away at work looks to be plenty that would be nice pin hooks

If you don't want to pay the reserve, the breeders will just hang onto them and race them.  The Westspeed makes it a viable alternate to selling at a loss.

Just one win will cover $70 000 (platinum).  But do the buyers think it will win just one.......  Obviously no.

45k to the full to the champion filly in Aus last year sold to Roy Rogers I don't care if it had 2 broken legs you would have be to be on meth surly
  • lamelame    1,757 posts
    See David Raphael brought 121
Very good at picking a horse and racing then selling as a stallion :-?

The median is down 25% on last year's sale, bucking the trend of other sales in Aust this year, in fact it's about a 50+% swing against the tide. Magic Millions are clearly not doing enough to resurrect this sale and seem content to let it go from disastrous to worse. The very low #'s of yearlings selling to the east or even any real presence of eastern states buyers is proof that MM are simply being lazy. There are quality horses at this sale & for the median in 2016 to be $30,000 is not good enough.

Quiet a few lots have gone east and overseas compared to other years , I guess their seeing value , so will only increase
Why spend 100+k for a Sebring over east when they can pick one up here st 50k
