EL DIVINO

The Blackbook
This is a horse that you need to consider to follow and expect to see a few wins through the Autumn Carnival in Sydney 2016.

Though the quality of the horse will be that he will be favourite and Evens or less at best.

Enjoy the Autumn Carnival in Sydney.

Races this Saturday in the Kindergarten Stks at Randwick.

Currently $2.50 and though I do also like Astern ($2.60), these two are classes above the rest of the field and will both have strong careers.

Barriers and there being only 9 left in the field El Divino has #5 and Astern  #10.

These two will go close to breaking 1:04:00 over the 1100.

2016 Kindergarten Stakes result – Judge couldn’t split them

Gai Waterhouse and John O’Shea were the stables involved, with Waterhouse’s charge El Divino ($4.60), a half-brother to superstar Winx, splitting the line with John O’Shea’s colt Astern ($2.15 fav), which backed up after failing in the Golden Slipper.

El Divino sat third, out three deep, whilst Astern was posted four-wide after beginning awkwardly and racing too keenly to take an intended sit behind the leaders.

A soft Randwick track however may have saved James McDonald aboard Astern, with the fence expected to be a ‘no go’ zone, putting the Kiwi hoop was in the right part of the track when the youngsters straightened.

Blake Shinn appeared to have a bit up his sleeve on El Divino when Astern ranged-up and it was only in the last few strides that Astern managed to get on terms, the pair hitting line locked together.

The judge couldn’t separate them, Racing NSW stewards viewed the photo and confirmed that it was a dead-heat.

"He’s a lovely horse and will come back bigger and better,” McDonald said of Astern.

"It was a thrilling finish,” Shinn said. "Two high class two-year-olds going places.”

Bjorn Baker’s filly Geneteau ($51) officially finished third, beaten 3-1/2 lengths.

For Waterhouse and O’Shea it was a bitter sweet result, better than a loss but not as good as an outright win.

"This is a Group I horse,” Waterhouse said of El Divino. "A really, really exciting colt. It’s just his second start and he’s already won a black type race.

"He had no luck today posted four wide from the wide gate but he showed a lot of tenacity on the line,” O’Shea said of Astern. "We’re very proud of him.”

Apologies with the late notice but El Divino is going around Rosehill Race 7 (13:50 WA Time).

    Nice odds of $5.50 today

Again Astern is in the same race and potentially the quinella and should be a great race.

Time to decide if they are going to breed or geld...

I think it is time to send to Melbourne or Adelaide and the change of direction could switch the effort and get a win but hardly seems that it is Winx's brother.
