Tough game for connections this horse racing.
From the euphoria of a gutsy race win on First In Line(I backed it too)at Flemington and merely minutes later the horse collapsed and died.So bloody upsetting, I feel really sorry for them :(

*Watch the fun police mount a fresh campaign on the cruelty agenda too ...

Shocking day, I fear Big Parade who broke down at Rosehill will also not make it :(
Only an hour or two ago i watched a beaut story too on how Joe Pride's young bloke loves that galloper to bits :(

look at the plethora of world class jocks in melbourne...in no particular order, oliver, shinn, williams, dee, allen, yendall, coffey, zarah, mott, lane, mertens, melham, stackhouse..the list goes on.

you could put the hard working carleen hefel in there, 16 rides friday to sunday...not a bad few days, about $3500 in fees alone...

HK has purton and UK has ryan and the retiring dettori..the above could hold their own anywhere in the world. but why not...all making millions here in oz.

How good are 2000m races around The Valley?

Great to see Floating Artist back on track.

His was a beaut run and win, I liked it but the drift put me off and I backed Deepstrike the drum..naturally in hindsight i had the "why didnt you have a quinella dumbarse" thought. lol

I reckon the distance races are better to bet on there too, some of the other fare not so much...

Punters, have a captain cook at the replay of R9 at Scone..our own Madi Derrick was on a 100-1 pop(it paid $152 on Utab)and launches from a truly hopeless position and rolls the even money fav in the last 2 hops :))

    Astonishing win.

    Back in Perth

Looking likely Buenos Noches could have a very big spring.
He was definitely thereabouts in the big sprints in his 3yo season but looks to have come on after a spell, the win today was super..$6 was overs.

Reckon Nature Strip has run his last race..champion galloper who goes to the paddock with a tick over 20 million in the bank..loved the win when he smashed them in the UK.

    Enjoy retirement bigboy.

Worthy of a mention for a couple of mounts again on the weekend.
R2 at Moonee Valley she rides Vitrivius who is well down in grade, the impost of 61 after her claim is manageable, wasn't beaten far in a 78 with 60.5 at the same track last start.

She also rides a blackbooker of.mine Suzido at Sale in Sunday..R8.

    Good run Alaskan I agree.
Geez the fav was unders, had only won 1 Saturday BM race too I think and was drawn poorly up against some proven group performers.
My blackbooker Pinstriped won it and without me having a cent on, pharkkkk!

Robbie Dolan is packing up and moving to Qld, a good move I reckon if he gives it a red hot go.
Has mentioned some connections or at least riding work etc for Annabel Neasham and Chris Munce which can't hurt.

Ben Thompson is a good example of what can be achieved with hard work, he is no 2 on the charts there and only behind Orman I think.
