Can't say Ballarat is a favourite track of mine but Meridius should find the nice long straight conducive to him finishing off hard, the run last time at Caulfield "leadercourse" was full of merit.

Weather update forecasts a top of 15 and raining LOL so conditions will suit.Track will also suit the toppie Bermadez don't worry about the 61.5 he has earnt that weight and loves a soft deck.
They race in the lucky last, R10.

Maher & Eustace forecast to split  =((
  • ThunderstruckThunderstruck    7,696 posts
Yes i read that, Eustace off to HK most likely and chasing the big cash on offer.
Wonder who Maher will have perhaps step in to a partnership in Australia, with him having the biggest operation assume he will go down that road.
    Would there be a buyout/ buy-in deal? I assume so ..

PP reports Maher and his stable manager could be in strife as Racing Victoria have charged them with allegedly concealing conman Peter Foster's ownership of numerous horses including Azkadelia.

Hope Foster didn't sell them any of his leftover Tea.

Yes but I like to reminisce.

Did you watch that UK doco Horsepower Tony? One of the best racing docos I have viewed.

How was that race at Hobart yesterday ,  Race 4 , i watched that race live

Kings On Queens  33 to 1 into 11 to 2 and duly saluted , came down the outside with a huge run , looked like Media Puzzle winning that Geelong Cup of years back

And the winning jockey , little tubby bloke , and i did follow the WA gallops many years  back , that winning jockey , physique wise and style wise reminded me of Ron Franklin

Actually the winning jockey was Sigrid Carr not a "little tubby bloke"

Reckon Mertens would like his time again on Captain Britain. Could have driven a Mack truck up the inside where he was originally. Shocking decision making.

JMac post race interview after the last said not enough barrier attendants to manage the loading of the hoses in a timely manner. Revved up horses sitting in barriers too long was his comment.

Fair enough. Full fields all day and not enough attendants. Amateur at best

    I. It was big enough in the famous Thundering Legion case in S.A..when the Head Steward inspected the whip, got a shock , gave the jock ten years straight away, allowed replacement rider 33s into 3s it still won.

Looking forward to Blanc de Blanc's return at Caulfield in a very winnable R10, plus the first Group 1 of 2024 on Saturday.
Am a big Veight fan both cars and the horse wonder if he has made enough improvement to give the champ a real good run in the Orr.His first up win was far better than the narrow margin projected.

My Blue Diamond fancy is tracking very nicely Coleman.Lots of upside and 1200 will suit him to a tee.

See what a couple of the colts challengers offer on Saturday, High Octane and Bodyguard are maybe the two with the most ability.
Best filly in the mix might be one of Gai's that isn't even running this weekend, Lady Camelot who was a booming winner in Sydney last Saturday.
