Who are the notable big bash signings?
  • PAULPAUL    2,665 posts
Just looking at the imports. Ian Bell joins David Willey at the Scorchers. Stuart Broad joins Kumar Sangakkara at the Hurricanes. Kieron Pollard (injured last season) joins Adil Rashid for the Strikers. Brendon McCullum joins Samuel Badree at the Heat. Dwayne Bravo stays on at the Renegades but no announcement on the second import. Kevin Pietersen and Luke Wright stay with the Stars. Sixers haven't announced their imports yet but Johan Botha will stay on but will be granted Australian citizenship before the tournament. Thunder also haven't announced their imports, though Jacques Kallis won't return, as he has now retired.

Apart from Mitchell Johnson signing with the Scorchers, Brad Hogg and Marcus Harris moving to the Renegades, Alex Ross moving to the Heat, Joe Mennie moving to the Hurricanes and Mr Cricket retiring after BBL|05, that's about it so far regarding confirmed changes.

Very sad news - my first ever cricket bat was a Rapier signed by the Legend Maxie Walker. Little did I know he was a bowler not a batsman.

Loved watching him on the sunday afl football show on channel 9 with the great Ted Whitten.

    RIP Big Man!!!

    RIP big man.

My fondest childhood memories are EVERY Saturday sleeping at Nanas, waking up Sunday morning to Milo and toast, watching Maxy on Wide World Of Sports in front of the open fire.

You were an absolute Aussie legend

Same here @jum, I was a little too young to remember much of his cricket career.

My memories of him were when WWOS was on Saturday afternoons. With co-host Ken Sutcliffe, Ian "The Bear" Maurice (with his large collection of bowties) reading out the sports bulletins and crossing out to Ken Callander and John Tapp for the quaddie races in Sydney. I credit that program for starting my interest in sports and horse racing. "Tangles" was always entertaining as a presenter on WWOS.

A man of many talents including international cricketer (34 tests and 17 ODIs), VFL footballer (85 games for Melbourne), television presenter and best-selling author (over 1 million books sold).

    RIP Max "Tangles" Walker

I wondered why the lights were on! Might have stopped in for a couple of overs if I knew it was on.

Went to the WACA today with my nephew to watch the VIC v SA game. Saw Cam White score more runs today (145) than he did in the whole tournament last year (137) and Michael Beer take a hat-trick (wicket with last ball of one over, two wickets in first two balls of his next over). The Vics ended up easily securing the bonus point with a 135-run win.

    VIC 5/343 (50) - White 145, Stoinis 59*
    SA 208 (42.4) - Valente 100, Beer 3/44

Another game on at the WACA tomorrow, WA v QLD.

Rain has been threatening to ruin the WA v VIC match at the WACA. Game now reduced to a 28-over game, with WA currently batting. The match is on GEM.

With the rain delay, you'd think out of all the cricket games they could show highlights from, they choose to show a T20I (Aus v Ind) where Auatralia loses the game. Admittedly it does comes down to the last ball, but still....

    VIC need 140 from 18 overs, 0/8 (2.1)

    de Villiers or Border?
AB de Villiers was ruled out of the Test series a couple of weeks ago, however he has said he is trying get back for the 'day/night' Test in Adelaide. In regards to the other AB, the last time I saw him, he was flogging some 'circulation booster' on television.
