I was one leg off an 8 legger last round thanks to your stats Paul, I left one game out and the only one to let me down was the port v Melb game..
Your stats and history between the two had port winning comfortably and potentially by a margin of 30+ other than that game your were pretty much spot on ;;)

Western Bulldogs have their mojo back (sort of)
Essendon will find out what pressure is all about. $2.00 bullies H2H. Get in the payout line.
Oh and also GWS minus anything against the shockers.

Pretty much spot on? They're stats not opinions. If only my crystal ball could have foreseen Port failing to 'turn up' until the second half in that game, I guess it could have been handy. I did state though that the last time they played each other, the Demons did beat Port at their home ground by 40 points. Before that win, Port had won the previous 7 v Demons (3 at Traeger Park, 2 at Adelaide Oval and 1 at Marrara Oval & MCG).

That's the beauty of stats though, they can be interpreted in many different ways.

If you take the Melbourne v Port game, if you thought Port would win and knowing when Port had won previously this year, they had won all their games by 28+ points, you can make a case for picking Port (PYOL -27.5).

Then again, knowing Melbourne had ended Port's 7-game winning streak against them at the Adelaide Oval last time they met, you could think, well if Melbourne could beat them there then they should have no trouble beating them at home this time around.

As with most things though, it's all open to interpretation.

In any case, I just like throwing the stats out there. :)

I agree Freo will get eaten up there.
On another matter did you watch 360 last night re your mob Det , Gerard Wheatley use the words Soft ,Not tough enough , no leadership , down hill skiers , he said they are labeled with every tag a team doesn't want and even adding Nic Nat to the team is definitely not the answer oh well you should beat the Lions ,,should

Just sifting through your stats for this weekends games there looks to be a few favs that should hopefully cover the lines been set in their matches... Giants -39.5, port -30.5, adel -19.5, west coast -45.5 to all win and win comfortably then throw in the cats as the multi booster at 1.24 and lastly north Melb as the best outsider if the week at 2.90 against the Dee's, combined odds of 6 is nearly 60/1 then the north game
being the first leg if they happen to lose reload again with the other 5 legs.

Missed Afl 360 last night but have it recorded so I will watch it.
Whately is spot on with his assessment. Last 10 mins on Sunday was unacceptable.
First time I have ever heard Simpson admit pace is an issue. You can defend them for so long but when he is under question as a coach truths must come out.
Exit the slow coaches. Exit the players that are treading water. Use all the salary cap space and get speedy midfielders and half backs. Between half forward and half back we need a rebuild.

Watched snippets of Priddis press conference today.
Absolute class act both on and off the field.
Someone mentioned that Priddis holds the record for most tackles ever in the AFL.
Lecras and Wellingham should have taken a leaf out of his book.

Not to take anything away from Priddis and the amount of tackles he had which is a great effort but that stat is always going to favour players who've played in the last 10 years or so just because of the way the game is played these days.

That stat favours players with the will to continuously tackle. Credit where it's due.

I thought I did give credit where it was due in saying it was a great effort by Priddis but there is far more tackling in games these days compared to how it used to be. In the 2000 season no player had a 100 tackles but last year over 50 players had 100 or more tackles including Priddis who topped the list with 188.

Falcon. You will be sad. Looks as if they have deleted the banter you enjoyed. Dunghole can send personal private messages calling people caravan living meth addicts etc etc but if you retaliate it looks as if your answers are deleted. Guess he has more pull than us. As Sam Newman said, ahh well. Thats me off.

The beauty of our game is that you can be as tall as Sandi or as short as Caleb Daniel. You can be as fast as Cyril or as slow as Pridda.
Pridda used his assets at his disposal to benefit his team, which are tackling and handballing out of congestion.
If you want to talk the last ten years, Pridda has performed on the same stage as Dangerfield, Ablett, Selwood, Fyfe, Mitchell, Martin, Harvey, Judd, etc etc.
All Australian, Brownlow medalist, r/up Brownlow, Fairest & best.
Tackling has become such a big part of AFL these days and Pridda was exceptional at it.

That's all well and good Det but it wasn't a knock on Priddis as a player. It was just putting into perspective what holding the all time tackle record actually means and that is you've got a huge advantage in racking up the numbers if you played in recent times. These days it's just one tackle after the other because of all the congestion.

Appreciate your point Runyon. Agree that everyone's tackle count should be up in the current environment of AFL footy. One player just does it better and more consistently than the rest.
