Roos lose to Brissie and they get the 1st draft pick. Win and they're probably looking at the 4th.

Brissie lose and they get the 1st. Should be some interesting moves in the coaches box.

Very true Paul. Coaches only come into it if something goes wrong and they start winning.

Whilst on that Paul did the Sydney Swans possibly in the Capper era when they were beginning to build a very good team win 3 games in a row by over 100 points ?

I reckon Brisbane will be out to win the game and North will be happy to get the spoon.
Fagan, from a far, appears to have a positive attitude and wants to win games.
Scott is all about the rebuild. No 1 draft pick sounds good if you want to entice a Martin or Kelly to your club and trying to sell the future.
Might take some of the $1.54 on offer about Brissie. Don't think it will be available after Thursday selection night.

You are probably thinking of a three week period in 1987, Rounds 16-18, however the third win was only by 91 points.

    R16 v WCE, SCG, SYD won 201-71 (130)
    R17 v ESS, SCG, SYD won 236-73 (163)
    R18 v RIC, SCG, SYD won 198-107 (91)

I do know Geelong did it back in 1989, Rounds 7-9.

    R7 v STK, Kardinia Park, GEE won 228-109 (119)
    R8 v BB, Kardinia Park, GEE won 179-50 (129)
    R9 v RIC, MCG, GEE won 211-77 (134)

I remember those games.Sydney were a scoring machine, capper in his hay day

I think the 60+ for the bombers is enticing. $15 for 100+

One more Paul...what were those close margins on the Eagles/Sydney games in and around the consecutive grand finals they contested.

What found fascinating was that on paper thought the star studded Eagles were a 6-8 goal better team. Each time they played including both Grand Finals thought the Eagles would win easily - but it never happened. Very gutsy team back then Sydney ( still are ).

Also taught me a lesson - football games aren't played on paper.

Especially when you think in some of those games, there were some decent deficits at H/T before the customary comeback in the second half.

QF 2005, SYD led by 14 at 3/4, lost by 4
GF 2005, SYD led by 20 at H/T, won by 4
    R15 2006, SYD led by 32 at H/T, lost by 2
QF 2006, SYD led by 15 at H/T, won by 1
GF 2006, WCE led by 25 at H/T, won by 1
    R1 2007, WCE led by 36 at H/T, won by 1

Since 2012, there hasn't been a close match between the two sides.

    R16 2012, Subiaco Oval, WCE lost 69-121 (-52)
    R17 2013, Subiaco Oval, WCE lost 79-113 (-34)
    R16 2014, Subiaco Oval, WCE lost 53-79 (-26)
    R17 2015, Subiaco Oval, WCE won 103-51 (52)
    R5 2016, SCG, SYD won 88-49 (39)
    R4 2017, Subiaco Oval, WCE won 91-65 (26)

They should have been swabbed. They were coming off a loss and won 219-57 and then lost their next seven games straight. Only won 4 games for the year including that one.

Sydney were abysmal back then under Gary Buckenara, had a losing streak over 20 games around the same time!

Spot on. I'd forgotten just how bad the Swans were back then. Only won once in 39 games.
