Belmont 4th of July.

West Australian Racing
Hope it's not to wet tomorrow. Heading down for my 51st birthday, just me, Kelly, Mum & Dad.

The last time we went to Belmont on my birthday was my 30th.... and boy oh boy, what a day!

We jagged the tri in race 4 with a boxed 1, 5, & 8 (Dads ''lucky'' numbers) that paid over $6k. Telling Rio about this earlier and I just thought, ****, Mum n' Dad were my age (today) that day
:-O
May explain Mum drinking the spilled Moe off the table that day
@-)

But that was only the beginning trendsetters... we backed the 2nd half of the card... Dad still has the racebook!

Concrete Crusher
Boardwalk Lady
Look of Success
Balminga

No qauddies in those days and I really can't remember how we were betting, just recall waking up and finding a small amount in my wallet and thinking ****... what happened?!
It was like Hangover!

I found Kellys bag and it was bulging with pineapples... all good!

Here's hoping for a repeat!

I like Paul Harveys 2 yo mounts and will be backing both of those.

Race 1 - Euphonius 12/1
Race 2 - Snowchino 4/1

Sticking with Pikey on the fave in Race 3 at evens.

Race 4... number 4 is a monty for me. 4 is my number.
It's Race 4 at 1424hr paying 4/1 with Pikey on board..... lock it in.

Race 5 - Apollo (stars ;) ) at 4's from barrier 4.

Race 6 - Dawn Mission - #4 barrier 4, ran 4th last start.

Race 7- I'm just going to box 6 in the tri here... what 6? Beer will tell me.

Race 8 - It has to be the old boys race 8 number 8 theory with Paul Harvey in the saddle. Was far from disgraced in the Guineas and 4/1 looks good to me.
+1 -1

Can you believe that tri paid well in excess of $6k ??

Harvey fell off the fave at the start and the riderless horse inconvenienced the field... except for Lyric Maid. It was 8 in front at the turn, with the riderless horse causing chaos. I thought she was going to hang on.... what would it have paid if she'd won?

Probably the same.. there was a full... or half divvy then. Doubt the pool would have been over 20k in 97.
