If you go to fixed odds betting page on various greyhound races in the UK that Tabtouch is now betting on - you don't back a name - just a trap ( box ) number.

They ( Tabcorp ) now bet on over 300 horse/dog meetings a week but at least have afforded those gracious animals names - to now just bet on numbers - how low can they go ? Realising nobody would hardly bet on them, but it's still a joke.

Tabcorps aim - bet on more and more events and squeeze every possible cent out of the punter that they possibly can.

Haha haven't we all done that at sometime - also so much for the bookmakers old catch cry - "give it a name".

Racecallers over the decades have called the UK Greyhounds by numbers with the odd one mentioning the name of the winner here and there.

In days gone by when they broadcast phantom calls into the bookmaker shops it was hilarious that a 30 second dog race would last one and a half to two minutes.

Do enjoy the UK greyhound handicap races - there classics. Pretty well handicapped too they appear. The backmarkers can eat up the ground.
