Country summer pacing returns to Busselton, will be tough to replicate the boy's tipping from last night at GP but after watching the first meeting of the round am keen on a few...

Race 1: Odds on fave Flight Song looks the goods on tough win opening night. If to be beaten look for standing start specialist Mondooley Mach or the grinding Bandar to cause the upset.

Race 2: Deadset two horse race, only two winning possibilities - American Voodoo and Euphoric Moment.

Race 3: Tough race, only because 25/1 roughie Tia Amo Bella for a place. Not confident but she was reasonable at long prices on night one.

Race 4: Pass on this one but Suvajlko's on the two faves look hard to beat.

Race 5:Packed Safely the one to beat and Betta Go Bolt no luck last week should've won.

Race 6: Awaitinginstructions - wait for nothing, the biggest certainty ever to go around at Busselton, steps, leads, all over.

Race 7: Just a field of six and grasping at straws but I'm backing Allthewaytoroyalty in novelties to run 2nd or 3rd and better have something small to win at around 20/1, not much good, but getting fitter and might be a fluker's hope!

Win, lose or draw can't wait for another night of driving tactics, telecast and great calling.
+1 -1

Race 1 Going for complete knockout here The Royal Lady 2400mtrs don't think there will be any records set for last 800 mtrs setting it up for swooper.
Race 2 The Glass Ceiling good trial since last start failure, has to lead.
Race 3 Liaurie always good value this class.
Race 4 Sammys Ideal big run last start chasing that horse with one qtr in him.
Race 5 Really like Happy As at odds but he will need luck somewhere along the way to get into it.
Race 6 First four 3,4,5 and 7 hoping the fav gets struck by lightning cause its the only way he will get beat
Race 7 Harris River Henry how can you go past a horse with a name like that. Trial form not too bad, looks a bit of a handful though.
    Good luck to all.

Don't forget your ol fave Freo - if ever, if ever, if ever Mondooley Mach can win another race it's the first at Busselton tonight!

Like the opening event - it's all for Fight Song to lose, but if he puts one hoof wrong, Mondooley Mach and that one paced grinder Bandar could be the ones.

94 starts for Mondooley and just the 4 wins, 31 starts over the 2400 for no wins, come in spinner me, ya gotta love Busselton - it's what it's all about, standing start horses, most limited, and some veteran ones, having some fun.

Did consider him Riders but he is in my "barred from ever betting on again book".
Actually like the horse he is a great money spinner for the Rigoli stable who travel far and wide.
Would love to see him get up but if there is a way of getting beat that horse will find it.

Good to see American Voodoo still improving and on the move, he's put a curse on me a few times, but this big bloke is going along nicely, if he or Eurphoric Moment don't win will be mighty shocked.

Yep agree Freo, The Glass Ceiling the only other possible knockout chance and the rest should be 100/1.

Saw the Rigoli's Allthewaytoroyalty run a good race at Wagin one night, had every hope opening night, then amazingly bobbed up at GP early in the week ran about last, but you know..well just saw a fraction there again, enough to suck me for novelty betting in a weak 6 horse Busso field.

Was Caveman the other night Allthewaytoroyalty ran 6th to at GP in a field of seven, beaten 19 metres and battled slowly home...but that's not deplorable for a race at Busselton.

@freodockers same wavelength Sammys Ideal. I see $6 the one market up. Ask the bank manager for some cash I think!

Jackygee a chance to lead them up in the first looks a decent price @$9

Yep Gilgamesh could be my only bet for the night, good ew odds something would have to go seriously wrong to miss first three.

here we go ..the Busso dice is about to roll

R1. Only "long course" race of the night. The 2400m gives Bandar a chance to grind his way into it. Going to relegate Fight Song out to 4th... a chance to miss away in the claustrophobic atmosphere. Happy to have a crack at a value first four.  8....3/4/6...3/4/6 .. 3/4/5/6. 12 bucks =100%
R2. With the stand risk of the others in the market Alfs Odyssey may actually settle in front of a few and be a chance at odds. Going to include him and Cyclone North in a first four with Euphoric Moment The Glass Ceiling and American Voodoo somehow.
R3 Kione Kaviar has the most consistent displayed form from the stand...no wins but 4 from 7 in the first 3 and ran on for OK 2nd at Busso last start. First four including it ...the 1 & 2 and the three girls Emily Deni & Jocelyn in some combo for small % and a fun watch.

    Back later

Driven a treat Fight Song early move was spot on, Mondooley Mach he's going as well as ever, never gave up, dam good tough effort from him. Bandar he'd be going the same pace after 7 laps, very one paced he is.

Cherokee horse did a power of work and battled away ok. All honours to the winner and runner up.

Nice call Liaurie freodockers, driven a treat, the attack before the bell was a ripper for your selection!

Thanks mate I pulled out and went for your tip in the last faaaark.
  • Ridersonthestorm33Ridersonthestorm33    10,809 posts
Oh no, even I'm astounded by that, was just going to say after that effort I'd never ever back that Tiamo Bella again, and you won't either.

At those big odds could've backed both.
  • Ridersonthestorm33Ridersonthestorm33    10,809 posts
Unlucky Curmudgeon The Boxer of all horses to knock you off, American Voodoo was a bit over the place, not the ideal run needed for him, was pretty average just the same.

Euphoric Moment looked very good again.

Hahahahaha I remember Gilgamesh - Mike Reed and Mark Reed ? Arrived here from Victoria and won a string of races.

Recall a Mike Reed horse use to back around then and Mark drove wasn't much good but improved out of sight was up for a small fortune one night in a stand - beaten a nose - I Dare.

stg probably gone to bed too after Spiritual Warrior unlucky in the Perth Cup - don't know what you thought stg, but for me almost a good thing beaten, held up badly behind the tiring Royal Command - was hitting the line with alacrity, should've gone close.

Up coming meeting next Friday night, great stuff, it's different from the same ol, same ol...some of those lightning moves last night, it's competitive.

A couple more at 2,400 metres might be a good idea, just the one last night, and they went for it too.
