Belmont 150 metre mark, horses dipping

West Australian Racing
Yesterday's stewards report is littered with "dipped at the 150 metre mark". It's this the same issue that there was a month or so ago or was that the 250m mark? What is the go with Belmont? I know it has had a lot of racing (too much probably) and the staff have done an enormous job, but this is concerning.

If it was Mt Barker the jockeys would refuse to ride.

Same spot. You can pick it up pretty clearly in the footage.

Track has been poor this season. Seems to be different lanes appearing at each meeting

we are just so bloody complacent here in "wait awhile". if this problem existed in any other racing hub trainers, owners, jocks would be yelling blue murder.

If there were options available to avoid racing there I'm sure some trainers would take that route... not worth risking running good horses on a sub standard track

Wasn’t the problem section of track associated with there being a pipe laid underneath that area

Race 1 Saturday - leader clearly (in vision) dipped / mis-strode at that point, and not got a mention in report.

Yes. Apparently Golden Rivers compacted the area to "road" standards. Track manager said on radio a week or so ago that he was trying to alleviate the situation.

More dipping and mis-striding at the 150m today.
Other than that, the track is really hammered. The track staff are on a hiding to nothing with races every Wed and Saturday.
Surely they can look at transferring some midweeks to Pinj or Northam. Last Saturday the rail was at 12 metres and it played terribly.
They rely on the punters $$ but soon enough it'll be a goat track and nobody will punt

Not clear whether the stewards are reporting every one.  Some days there are 3-6 reports (30 May, 3 June, 15 July, 29 July), others days between 0-2.

It also appears to happen on good (3 June, 29 July) and soft (30 May, 15 July) tracks.

It's likely there have been a number of races this seasons where a horse dipping at the 150m mark has changed the result of the race (30 May - Divine Shadow beaten a neck, 3 June - Three Eze beaten a nose, 27 June - Puckapunyal beaten a nose, 15 July - Weaponson beaten a neck, 15 July - Expressionist beaten a head, 29 July - Puli beaten a short neck).

Add in horses like Angelic Ruler and Porphyrio who had their chances ruined on 30 May. There are probably others.

Your correct Flanders in the sat post I said walking on track Saturday the track looked terrible . You get to notice it now because of the new entry into Belmont which takes you along the straight

The inside track at Belmont looks like it's stuffed as well, with the trials called of today after not much rain. I presume it gets used for trackwork too so it could be another over-use issue.
