R1- MIAMI CITY gets another good chance to break through for maiden win here. Has been a touch stiff to bump into Miss Livinia and Lonehand Larry his last two when running second to each of them. Both of those horses have been Saturday placed since while Miami City comes back to a midweek maiden and gets a few things in his favour. 1200 looks a positive, as does the prospect of rain and the middle draw should allow him to avoid the fence.

R2- TIME SCALE trialled well for her return before beating a quality class one field first up. Was strong late to hold the challenge of Material Witness who bolted in at Albany at his next start. Stepping to 1100 in a small field with a bit of speed she can be ridden with some cover and has shown a turn of foot in the past. Carries the same weight as first up back into her own age group and gets last crack if they turn the speed right on.

R3- EMPIRE REIGN resumed over 1000m which looked a touch sharp for him but was the target of big money. Was three deep at the front of the field and loomed at the top of the straight before being out sprinted when third. Looks much better suited at 1400 second up in a race with little tempo. Should be very close to the speed from three and drops weight up a grade but this looks weaker than what he faced first up.

R4- TRI FOR US has put in two good runs from as many starts in her career to date. On debut sat right over the speed and looked the winner in the straight before being grabbed on the line. Again found herself right over the speed lasts start from a wide gate and showed a good turn of speed to win easy. Can sit close again from the draw and looks like winning better races than this at some stage.

R5- GOD’S BUSINESS went straight to the top and never looked like losing at Narrogin on debut. Big question mark on the strength of the form but was pretty good on the clock looked like he has something extra. Had trialled nicely prior to that including a second to Nowhiteflag when breezing outside him. Expect similar handlebars down tactics from the low draw and no reason he can’t make it two from two.

R6- SUNSET CRUISE won a maiden at the end of last year well when leading. Since then has been getting ridden with cover or back and getting into her races at the right time. Now draws wide in a field with little early speed and the blinkers go back which she has on for the maiden win. Expect her to be ridden with intent early and if she can find the front or even the breeze she should run a much improved race.

R7- Best Bet: CHASING CHAOS is an old marvel and doesn’t know how to give in. Was a winner four back after being challenged left, right and centre before stretching the neck of Albany cup runner up Brutus Maximus two back. Sat on top of a fast tempo last start before going straight past the leader and kept fighting the whole way down the straight when challenged. Looks like getting a chance to lead and dictate here and is always hard to run down.
