R1- MAHALEO got the run of the race last start and duly saluted. That was on the back of some handy performances over unsuitable trips including a midfield finish over 1000m behind Bitofmerit and Buzzoom and a fourth in a Saturday 3yo race over 1200. 1500 really looked to his liking last start when able to travel in run and show a real turn of speed. Getting to 1600 looks better again for him and should cross to the breeze pretty cosy and dictate the speed.
R2- PRAY AGAIN looks to have a bit of raw ability that’ll see him win a maiden soon. Ran fourth behind Wuhan Warrior and Treasured Star on debut and was immediately tipped out. Returned off the back of a handy trial behind Desert Vixen over 1300 when taking good ground off subsequent placegetter Belle’s Fantasy with 3L back to third. Getting to 1500 looks a real positive as does the wider gate to give him some racing room.
R3- Best Bet: PASSION PRINCE looks awfully hard to beat off the back of a decent win over an unsuitable trip. Had hit the line pretty well in a trial leading in to his debut run over 1100. That trip looked too short on paper and he had to earn the win as a result having to be scrubbed along most of the way and not showing an explosive turn of speed. Was still able to grind the victory out just from Dais who won her maiden stylishly. Can use the gate to sit handy again but should show a real turn of foot out to 1500.
R4- TREVERN has returned to racing really well and is undefeated this prep. Led running first up and gave nothing else a chance. Second up he had to earn the win in a decent class one field when burning to the lead, rolling off on the corner and hitting the line hard to edge away from his rivals late. In a race with Shock Result and Tovarich drawn just outside him he can be ridden to hold them out or sit third in the clear and utilise that turn of foot he showed late last start.
R5- SPARKLING BLUE was smashed in betting on debut and gave backers an easy watch. That was on the back of some solid trial form including the Prince Ragnar trial. The debut win was strong when firing straight to the breeze and letting down powerfully when asked to go. Her recent trial was good when not asked to do much and in a race without a lot of tactical speed she could potentially find the back of Cross Statement. From there she can bide her time and pounce in the straight.
R6- STANDOUT ROSE was back to her best last start when forced to really find late to catch Native Chimes who was off and gone. Atoned for a first up flop when running a nice second behind Tradement in a class three but was better again last start when up in grade. Came from a long way back over 1200 and now looks ready for 1400 from a low draw in a race that should be genuinely run. Will need the gaps to come her way from one but proved she can really fly if they come her way.
R7- TALENTED ESCAPE was really starting to hit form before a freshen. Ran second in a fast run class one before a massive effort to run fourth in the brutal tempo staying race behind Axel ‘R’ Eight. Was given a quiet for his fresh run when being forced to box seat before shooting through on corner and fending off the challenges late. Beat subsequent winner Cable Guy over 1500 and looks much better suited up to 1800 from a low draw where he can fire out and dictate.

Good help Is hard to find, throw in that and fact fact Chris’s right hand man in Brian Carey turned to training and this was always bound to happen eventually just not a couple weeks into the new season

It wasn’t about the money, he asked for his staff to be better looked after. They laughed at him, he said he can’t expect these guys to do more and get nothing as there already going above and beyond.
He was then offered the job over there, and he give them his contract from NSW and said match it or he’s going. They didn’t know what to do so he said he’ll make it easier for them and left..
The track curator and that department come last in the order of being looked after apparently, seems to be a culture problem

Probably just protecting Melbourne cup day which is 2nd biggest day of the year outside of Perth cup day?
Remembering going to cup day at ascot a couple of years ago arriving at 9 in morning and by 10 she was packed..different sort of punter there compared to Railway Winterbottom though..
