Only watched it once live but their positions in the run probably stayed similar all the way to the line.
Not sure does she have one more run before the Arc?
Always thought it might be a stretch for her to win or even run top 4 in a prestigious race like the Arc but 2400 and hopefully good pace will suit her better, I'd get Jmac over to ride her too no doubt.

Also, Verry Elleegant become the first Australian Group 1 winner to race in the Prix Foy in 25 years. The last was Nothin’ Leica Dane who ran 2nd in 1997.
Gerald Mosse rode Nothin Leica Dane in that 1997 Prix Foy (then a Group 3). Nothin Leica Dane also ran in the 1997 Arc but finished well back
Fondly remember that glorious day when Gold Ace won a straight race earlier and i had it all up into NLD in the VRC Derby when he beat Octagonal..it was fillup city!
Anyway enough reminiscing, back to VE.
Jockey led on her for probably the first time ever that I recall, she stuck on well the winner surged late from last and she was beaten just over a length in a time of 2.36 something on soft ground.
Sokolski was bullish enough to at least suggest the Arc is still on the agenda as her next race, i wouldn't give her much of a chance but with a much bigger field more genuine pace plus not leading you never know I guess.

She will have to improve to run well in the Arc. Another option is the G1 2800m mares race on Arc day. Anyway let's wait and see.

Paid up 2nd acceptance today then OUT with a tendon injury hours later. The "moneybags crew" will have to see if they can buy another top chance on short notice...
About 160 to 180,000 Euro the next acceptance fee is too I read.
Also some commentary they may consider increasing the field size as has happened in the past, some silly bet type only caters for a Max of 20 runners apparently but they may circumnavigate that if required.
Zahra flying over to ride, something they should have done from the start engage a jockey who knows her JMAC would have been better again(neither would never have led last start) but I suppose it isn't practical given the distance etc.
Dropped 7 ratings points according to the frog's, good move team Sokolski now idk if she is past her best on the current prep and let's be honest she was never going to win or probably even place there but it sure looks like a ballsup now..meanwhile a crack at another MC(after her dominance last year)goes down the crapper.
Those Frenchies hey...cest no more ;))
:))
Trainer is blaming some frenchie for the 7 ratings points drop though Falc..that's racing I guess and a bit of a ballsup I'd call it, as long as the mare is well.
Might well be retirement time for her she was a great galloper in Aus and doesn't lose any gloss from me for embarking on "Brae's excellent adventures" without success.

RP's Sam Hendry reports;
???? A busy and dramatic day on the road to the Arc began with the
news that Adayar, who was fourth in the race last year and third favourite this
time around, was to be scratched from the race and aimed at
Ascot and a clash with Baaeed in the Qipco Champion Stakes instead.
That freed up his regular jockey
William Buick, who now looks set to partner Mishriff in the big one on Sunday,
where the maximum field size of 20 will be retained
despite there being 24 horses currently entered and a 25th expected to be added
this morning in the shape of Verry Elleegant.
'It's strange that they haven't
found a better way of resolving this'
That news was not welcomed by Yann
Lerner, the trainer of 14-1 shot La Parisienne, who labelled the decision
"surreal" and "incomprehensible" with his filly one of
those in danger of missing the cut.
???? He said:
"We're in a country that is a little bit different when it comes to these
matters but it's nonetheless strange that they haven't found a better way of
resolving this on a wide track like Longchamp with the rail at its innermost.
"We've seen Arcs in the past
with more than 20 runners but we need to be philosophical and patiently wait to
see if something comes out. For me it’s a real shame if anyone is eliminated,
regardless of whether it's us."
????️ It then emerged that Longchamp officials had watered the track
on Sunday, a decision that was questioned by the
connections of Mishriff after 9mm of rain on Tuesday turned the ground good to
soft, soft in places with the prospect of more to come.
It was described as "an
interesting move" by Ted Voute, racing manager to Mishriff's owner Prince
Faisal, with the John and Thady Gosden-trained star among many who would rather
avoid the sort of bottomless ground the Arc has been held on for each of the last
three years - a prospect that is beginning to look more likely.
Prize money isn't factored (nor should it be) when it comes to a horse's performance in races. The fact is currently her rating isn't high enough and fair enough too.
