How does Profundo get a start?

Would hate to see Alligator win it but doubt it can.

Mo'Unga could be the surprise packet.

On international form El Bodegon is a certainty

A couple are a query as starters Young Werther too? Maximal?

Is El Bodegon as good as State Of Rest Slip? I might have a saver on just so it doesn't win lol
Gold Trip can run a race if he handles the quick back-up, what will the weather do talk of some more El Nino weather around a bog track would stuff things obviously.
Anamoe was very good when he regrouped from a.slowish pace and crabbing around the turn yet still surged to win.
Can someone ensure they run along please!!

Annabel Neasham with 3 runners is a good achievement, sky is the limit for this lady.

He is very VERY good Falc..the ring in could be the main danger and let's see if Jamie rolls on Zaaki that's his best chance to lead and hum along..don't let AB cross.
  • thefalconthefalcon    20,295 posts
isn't AB under a bit of a cloud? if he starts he'll cross easily..as do most of the w/bott horses.

Passed fit to start earlier today or yesty evening but good to go.
I know the stable are renowned but don't think Kah will let him though, imo definitely shouldn't.Zaaki is getting hindered by not leading at his own tempo although I'm not 100% sure JK knows it..whereas Jmac did or seemed to.
Based on the Caulfield run Alligator Blood is little hope of seeing.out the 2040 as well as numerous others.

peeing down is meeting in peril? whos the best muddy?
  • ThunderstruckThunderstruck    7,696 posts
A few El Bodegon, Gold Trip looks to go alright in it, Anamoe has won on heavy, Zaaki is 2/3 on heavy..wait and see how much rain they get I guess..fn hopeless the weather over there.

Don't forget Sir Dragonet for Maher/Eustace won it on a slop..they have Gold Trip who was a late entry as much because of the impending weather as anything else.

Manikato being run as an extra race tomorrow (race 11)

Will Saturday go ahead at the Valley? Weather?

Bella should win the Manikato on the heavy.

El Bodegon has won on the heavy overseas which is like soft here. Well backed since my original declaration and with 56.5 should crap in.

Hardly raced on it while raining due to the thunderstorm activity, I reckon(it's Melbourne weather so arks could turn up on course or they only get another 5 or 10 mil who knows)it won't be too bad.Hopefully not too much rain during the meeting, the track was hard before it rained so fingers crossed.

Big handicaps for El B are Slip declaring it :D , me having my 100 buck free hit(thankyou Ladbrokes)on AND Ollie being the steerer, he is on a decent downer atm..might be his day to turn that around however.

As of right now Tabtouch have the entire Moonee Valley meeting tomorrow status "abandoned" how odd.
Others I use are business as usual.
The new kid on the block Betr now maybe they have been hit harder or are they peahearted idk which it is but they have El Bodegon at $4.80..others are 5.50 but mainly $6..and before TT went AWOL on the whole meeting they were 6.50.

Reckon the Verve can run a race today conditions suit and a good frontrunning jock in Tim Clark should prove advantageous too.She is nice odds today.

Gotta say, love the Cox Plate but please MV committee, take it back to 8 horses. Too many speed humps in it this year.  Profondo, Young Werther, Maximal, Laws of Indices.... Position in run won the race . Huge run 2nd horse.

could not believe the price..should have been odds on...imho.

I don't reckon the winner loves the Mexican way of going or heavy ground, has been crabby a few times now..yet still wins.
Luck of the draw literally with IT and Anamoe beat it fair and square at Caulfield, hopefully some more mouthwatering clashes before he goes to stud.

It wasn't a very good field depthwise which doesn't surprise me given it is Australian racing at 1600m+

Can't comment on the field quality other than the winner is just that...a winner in all respects....But the race call of Matt Hill was elite, he may be the best caller we have heard for a long time, amongst some very exalted and highly respected company. Precise, fluent and passionate, I think he is top shelf.

On que……froth over European form.  Yet you seem to ignore English Derby Winners such as Serpentine who cant get out of their own way in our lower end Melbourne cup lead ups.  Be consistent, if you are going to point out every European horse that out performs their previous form here, then you can’t ignore the many that go the other way.  Maximal another

Didn’t you pot the race last year, saying the winner was an average horse in Europe?  I can dig it out but I predicted State Of Rest would be a player at Royal Ascot and when he won Prince Of Wales after a group 1 in France and I re-posted my comments you had crickets.

El didn't handle the tight Valley track in my opinion. Didn't appear to be on the right leg on the turn and even prior.
