Gina v Netball Australia

Australia's elite Netballers obviously don't care about those at the junior levels who survive due to the assistance of volunteers and could very well do with Gina's contribution trickling down in their direction.

No wonder those elite Netballers wear BIBS
+1 -1

It's a real "don't bite the hand that feeds you" moment isn't it.

The pay rises these athletes have been lobbying for are now long gone and the whole sport has to be in jeopardy now.

The athletes job is to get the ball in the net and let the administrators handle the sponsors and sponsorship.

Any players with issues with sponsorship need to go to the administration for guidance and walk the walk out the door if it doesn't align with their values, not set fire to the joint, which they have metaphorically done.

Just wait till it hits a sport you like thunder….. it’s coming …. Unless these administrators get some balls and nip it in the bud

Gina has set a precedent for Alinta (cricket) and Woodside (Freo) and any other spot fires that appear from sports players that think they are change crusaders.
Dont like the colour of the corporate money, f@(k you - you dont get it!!

The rhetoric on social media is that the public has had enough of the virtue signalling - just play the game and STFU

I applaud Gina, the press release was a ripper, so many truth bombs =D>

History will tell you that sporting clubs tend to disintegrate when players try to call the shots. Committees, Boards and Administrators have to run clubs and players have to play.

    All good points everyone.

If ever anyone was going to take on a corporate power...taking on Gina was the stupidest move every.

Gina has dominated and survived corporate fighting for her entire life. Her response was quick, right and gave a backhander to the over privileged me only 20-30 year olds. Fantastic result and lets see how these elite athletes find a stronger and more generous sponsor than  what she has proven to be.

Because anyone who now provides sponsorship to them has to think about whether they are going to upset her for giving a hand out to this mob!!!! Not too many corporates would really enjoy being in her sights... ;-)

Am no fan of Gina by any stretch of the imagination but absolutely correct decision to withdraw the cash from the prima donna's. Can you imagine? "I don't like the logo on my work uniform, I want to wear last years edition". Well, good, off you go then, don't let the door smack you on the **** on the way out. Far too much money in sport, to the detriment of the game(s) at grass roots level, what a bunch of privileged selfish gits society has generated simply because they are gifted with good hand eye coordination. Halve their pay, halve the entry prices, halve the administrators wages and return sport back to the people....and you get rid of corporate boxes hogging the best seats at the same time.

I am going to lead with chin….but here goes anyway.
When I first heard in the background that the netballers were refusing to wear the uniform with Hancock Prospecting on it I assumed it was because of HanCOCK.
This was on the back of certain AFLW women not wearing the “pride” guernsey because of religious beliefs making the news and other PC bulls**t we have to put up with.
This PC sensitive world is brain washing me into “second guessing” everyday activities for fear of who am I unintentionally going to offend. :-&

Just offend the pi55weak pharkers deto. They are only bullish in front of a microphone and camera, whilst standing next to their pi55weak mates

there's all sort of bullsh*t flying around now...
turns out some assclown from the players union encouraged her to make a stand...
that right there was the start of it.
thats where the blame should lie.
if the players union told her to wear the bloody thing and get on with it... nothing more would have come of it and she certainly would have been feeling a lot better than she does now.

too many woke, leftie tossers advising these young people to "be more offended".

wish we could go back to the old days, her advice would have been "do you like playing netball?"

If employers recruited based on what your parents said back in the 70's I'd be in the Centrelink queue right now
