He won the two main races at York tonight. One of the top jockeys in the world yet has a very average record in Australia. I could be wrong but I only recall him winning one race and he should have won a Melbourne Cup
FRANKIE DETTORI has refused to race in Ireland after a row over how much he will be paid.
The world's most famous jockey, 52, had promised to ride at Listowel as part of his global farewell tour.
Dettori, who is enjoying a sensational season in the saddle, had vowed to appear at the track's Harvest Festival after missing last year's renewal due to suspension.
Former racecourse boss Pat Healy said the track and Dettori had agreed a fee last year.
But the jockey wanted more cash 12 months on and a disagreement over the fee means he won't be there.
Healy wrote in his Betdaq column: "We’re less than two weeks away from the seven-day Harvest Festival and I’m afraid we’ll have no Frankie Dettori in Listowel this year.
"It’s unfortunate, but if I’m to be honest, Frankie had one price and we had another price which we agreed last year.
"Of course, last year he got suspended after riding in Germany and couldn’t come, but he promised that he’d come this year.
"Unfortunately, we couldn’t meet in the middle, so that’s why Frankie won’t be coming to Listowel.
"We'll plough on and hope to have a bigger and better Harvest Festival than ever."
Dettori rode a big winner in Hungary last weekend and, after starting his last year in the States, will take in France, Australia and Hong Kong before the year is out.
His final race in Britain will be on Champions Day at Ascot on October 21.
'It could be three months. It could be three years' - Frankie Dettori cancels retirement plan and will move to America
Frankie Dettori has abandoned his plan to retire later this year and is to extend his career indefinitely as a full-time US-based jockey.
Speaking to the Racing Post on Thursday morning, Dettori revealed the success of his farewell tour had convinced him there was still time to open a new chapter in an extraordinary career that will now take him to California, where his primary motivation is to secure a fancied mount in the Kentucky Derby.
Good day for Frankie: 1st - G1 Champions Stakes (2000m) 2nd - G1 Champions Sprint (1200m) 1st - G2 Champions Long Dist Cup (3115m)
Dubai Honour got beaten in the G1 Champions Stakes...yet comes to Australia and wins two G1s, including beating Anamoe.
It quite rightly puts into question what Anamoe was beating. Answer = not much. There isn't depth/quality in numbers in Australian racing currently and for the past decade at least at 1600m+
As if Frankie will not ride again in the UK.....As the English would say Bollocks. He loves the limelight too much.
That win of Trawlerman was incredible. After what appeared a suicide frenetic pace it gets easily overtaken in the straight and then kicks back to win comfortably.
Just wondering is there is any love lost between Frankie and Ryan?
At another track interesting fluctuations last night R7 Wolverhampton. Meleki drifts from 7s to 51s and then back into 19s. Unplaced
My only two memories of him riding here are two lots of carnage he caused in the Melb cup, one hurt me when Gust Of Wind(you p*"%$ frankie)copped the backwash of his shitness and the 2nd benefitted no wait actually gifted me 162.5% of the trifecta when Vow And Declare won :D
I see Zahra has to cough up 50K of his winning percentage(150K)for overuse of the persuader ..
talking of jocks, where is ethan brown? he made a comeback after that nasty fall. i hope he hasn't had a relapse.

Taking further time out of the saddle, still suffering from PTSD I guess you would call it from that extremely serious fall in March. At this time feels he still isn't ready so its a smart move to take more time, Hopefully he gets back to 100% in the future.
Think someone else needs to take a complete break,to sort her life out,has struggled since her return.not the same as before the horrific race and smash, and the Air BNB when she was riding on a crest of a wave, good luck also to Celine Guandray on her trip to NZ this weekend.
Celine is riding well, has handled the bull Buffalo River as well as anyone lately.Guess she is riding for Mike Moroney over there Glamour?
Jamie Kah is indeed off her game, they should have sorted the other incident she is under investigation for out already, that can't be helping..but she is definitely not the same rider/person atm.
Irrespective of the nose beers I do think that's a catastrophic blue myself.I also think it should have been sorted already but maybe they chose to hold off for her.mental health I have no idea.
Hope she sorts any issues and gets the appropriate help where needed..let's not crucify her please.
Made some poor choices yes..but her misdemeanour(s) aren't too serious imo. They should have sorted out the coke enquiry straight away and applied any penalty to get it out of the way, maybe due to compassion with her recovering injury they postponed this idk.
Hopefully she sorts herself out and gets some professional help if necessary, she is probably pretty vulnerable atm.
Every person is entitled to their opinion.....we all have choices in life..... sometimes people make bad ones then complain about the consequences.....eyes should be wide open.

Maybe he does another cannonball job and helps net(jag) me another trifecta Falc :P
@Slip idk why but he rides like a B grader here especially in our greatest race?

A career in TV beckons after retirement - when he will rent out his awesome Newmarket mansion for £15,000 a month.

What sort of personal problems? Hope she will be ok.
Just rode a winner and in the previous race finished a very close 3rd coming from a mile back.
Finished 4th in the opening race
She had 8 rides 2 wins a 3rd and 2 4ths and a $17.00 winner in there, great for her.
