Browny hangs up the reins, nice article from Ash Paikos:

Life was tough back then for junior drivers, opportunities were hard to come by.

After Go To It won that 2.25 and better stand from 10m for Browny on October 9th, 1976, his next win would be in a Qualifying Stakes in town on May 14th, 1977 and who was the driver that night? The boss of course, James H Schrader.

Other winners that night at York were Avalon (T.Warwick), Beau Pirie (C.Murphy)  whose dam I owned at the time, Annear  (V.Pereira), Grand Slam (V.Periera), Frostson (Scott Prowse) and Go To It. ......And yep, I was there on course that night. It was a Saturday Night, the racebook says so.

I spoke to Colin when I was on the RWWA Board and he was extremely appreciative of the improved conditions that had been introduced for drivers. He said the conditions and incentives were nothing like that when he started.and now drivers had the opportunity to make a reasonable living from just driving..
