A mixed bag overnight with my blokes ranked in betting order with their scores
Xander shot a -3. Hovland with a -1 and Windy C shoots even par which his back nine could be described as "erratic".
Keegan Bradley leads all comers with a bogey free -6 while only 1 back is Hideki, who has found a burst of life since I was on him at the Scottish and Open Championships. Him winning the whole lot wouldn't surprise just to shit me off and put the nail in the coffin for the season.
Xander well placed and currently 5.50 favorite from Scheffler (-1).
It's been a slog, but have made it to the anti climactic tour championship at Eastlake.
The top 30 will battle it out in a handicapped strokes format essentially giving only 20% of the field a chance to win
I've been bullish on Xander and have invested 25 units at $3.50. He will.start 2 shots back from Scheffler and 2 shots ahead of the Hideki and the rest of the field. He is by far the best player at Eastlake in the past 5 seasons and hopefully he can salvage something at the end
The best player in the world goes into round 4 with a 5 shot lead from Morikawa and a further 2 back to Theegala.
Rory came from 6 back to beat Scheffler 2 years ago in the final round.
It won't happen this year. Scheffler is a different beast and will win the FedEx cup and Player of the year, to go with his 5 PGA wins, The Masters, Gold Medal and new baby boy. Quite the year.
In an era where the tour players are ready at 18 years young, this is a Tigeresque feat.
This will be the first year in 4 seasons that a negative balance is recorded for the year. A victim of early rough results and then and a Scheffler dominated second half, it's been tough.
Tougher than ever to actually watch the sport as well, with events running later and less and less watch friendly times here in WA. Not to mention the work and family commitments. But it remains a passion and we march forward with a very short break till the 24/25 season starting in just a few weeks.
Lastly,. hopefully the PGA tour and LIV come to an agreement soon. The fracture of the sport is leaving a soir taste on the mouth of the die hards and all we want is the best players in the world competing against each other more than 4 times per year. The majors were epic this year, most notably the US Open win by Bryson with Rory fighting it till the death. That's what we want. That is pro golf at it's epitome.
It might be a procession for Scottie tonight, but it's well deserved. Final wash up soon before closing off another year of pro golf.
It was a tough season with collects few and far between opposed to previous years. But on we march, a new season, a new thread and a new hope. it all starts again tomorrow night. See you on the other side!

Scheffler, already 2 ahead, shoots round of the day 65 to go 7 clear of the field.
It looks over.
Schauffele shoots -1 to be at -9 with Morikawa.
These guys would be the only 2 who could catch Scheffler with 3 rounds to play. Highly unlikely I'd say.
