Ive backed Aberg and Schauffele to beat Scheffler this week. Its not that I think they will beat him and win, its that ive boosted their prices with a 1.70 pop in the hope that he would WD or not show up, given all the talk last week about his first born about to arrive etc. But Scheffler is on property and all accounts says he is ready to go. If you are looking for a maddie each way, Tom Hoge fits the bill at $101.
So here I am with 2.5 units both Schuaffele and Aberg at $18.50 and $21 resepctively. Ive added a same tournmant multi here for some interest at the follwoing odds of $7.90. Another 2.5 units here
Scheffler Top 5
Aberg Top 20
Schauffele Top 20
Homa Top 20
Over in the Dominican Republic and Corales puntcana, Im going single bullet one out with Doug Ghim this week at $41.
2.5 units on here.
Adding another 2.5 units at $11.90 on a same tournament multi as follows
Horshel Top 20
Ghim Top 20
Hojgaard Top 20
Apologies for the lack of preview and good luck all watching 2 tournaments
I've caved and had a double across the Heritage and the Women's Chevron
Going for the winners to keep winning. Scheffler to win Heritage into Nelly Korda in the LPGA. Scheffler we all know about and Nelly going for 5 in a row.
3 rounds in the books at Heritage and it was a Saturday 63 by Scheffler to take a 1 stroke lead in round 4 from Sepp Straka, followed by a stroke back to Morikawa and then a host of players at -13, including Aberg.
The superlatives and adjectives to describe Scheffler are running out. He turned up Wednesday night, saw the course for the first time on Thursday and now leads after 3 rounds. Absolutely Tigeresque stuff.
I'd be very surprised if they ran him down. Aberg would have to have his own 63 on Sunday to catch him I would suspect. But it should be a great last round none the less.

Billy Horshal gets it done at Corales. Just typical when I go one out with Ghim, who plodded 16 shots back. Hojgaard missed the cut. Was on Horshal a few starts back and didn't back up in this weaker event.
Play is suspended at RBC, 7 holes to play and Scheffler leads by 3.
Scheffler gets it done at RBC Heritage by 3 shots. It was a procession again in the end. He is unstoppable at the moment and really should have the 5 wins straight of not for a missed 5 footer against Jaager a few weeks back.
He just doesn't make mistakes. If he does he fixes it instantly with a chip in or something similar. He bagen round 4 1.ahead and got out to as much as 5 ahead. He was leading by 4 with the morning restart and parred in till.a.bogey on 18 to get the win by 3 shots from Theegala.
He now won't be seen for a few weeks with the arrival of his first child, which gives everyone else a chance at glory.
Betting wise this was a great result in the end with Nelly doing her own demolition job in the Chevron. Thanks Christ for these two winners for some money to jump in the pot

Teams event this week with the imposters Schauffele and Cantlay heading the market. My eye immediately went to Theegala/Zalatoris at $11. More soon
Apologies late thoughts at the Zurich,.the weeks are just getting away from me
As mentioned, I jumped on the Theegala/Zalatoris team at what I thought was a good price at $12. 4 units here.
After round 1 and best ball format they sit 4 back at -7. It was an up and down day and in this format not too bad.
Cantlay and Schauffele had the same score and missed everything. They are much better at the alternate shot format in round 2, so I got on the $11 available for them before the start or round 2. 3.2 units out here.
Cut currently at -7 with these groups yet to tee off.
I've backed Bryson at LIV Adelaide at $13 pre tournament.
He currently sits at 7.50 on Tabtouch and as high as $17 on PlayUp. At this price he is worth a shot being 4 back at the moment after round 1. 3 units here.
In the PGA overnight, Sahith and Zalatoris absolutely shat the bed with a +1 return and missed the cut. All was sweet with 5 holes to go and they were 2 better than the cut, only to have 3 bogeys coming in.
Very disappointing and emblematic of their up and down seasons this far.
At least one of my predictions came true, with Cantlay and Xander excelling in the alternate shot format to card a round of the day 5 under 67 that includes a bogey on the par 5 18th hole, which put them only 1 back of the lead now and equal favorites to win with Lowry and McIlroy at 4.50. Poor old Rory would have been tearing his hair out with Lowry, who missed a host of make-able birdie putts through the middle of the round.
A good weekend ahead for a pretty hit and giggle event.
Over here in LIV Adelaide, Bryson shot another 4 under round however it just doesn't cut it at this course in SA, with leader Brandon Grace shooting a Saturday 63 to head the leaderboard at -14.
Not ideal, but we'll cheer home the imposters Cantlay and Schauffele over the weekend.
This week the tour goes back to Texas For The CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
Not a signature event means there is a lack of star power, but none the less a competitive field.
Par 71 at TOC Craig Ranch where we see Jason Day defend after breaking a drought last year. Jordan Spieth is the favorite at $17.
With Spieth being favorite and Zalatoris withdrawing on Tuesday, I think there is value to be had out side the top.
While nobody really sticks out statistically, my eye test over the last month reveals a few at pretty good odds to turn up this week. This course requires lots of birdies. Especially taking advantage of the par 5s which are gettable.
I like 3 guys this week to show up.
Sungjae Im ($26) - Playing at an ok level at the moment, he made the trip back to Korea last week and defended his home open. Might have sparked something for the prolific birdie getter.
Tom Hoge ($34) - Statistically as good as Scheffler on approach this season. He can get hot during the round and of the putter turns up he'll be in it. Has been consistent all season and has a pile of top 20s.
Ben An ($29) - Another one who is ultra consistent this season. The move to the broom stick putter definitely has helped and unlucky not to have won already this year.
I like Min Woo Lee as well but already have him for a season long bet of one + win
Playing the above 3 for 20 units. Collect around 194 units
Well it was another close call this week on the PGA tour, with Ben An finishing T4.
Tom Hoge got on the cans on the first night and never really figured. He is an amazing ball striker but he just doesn't have that killer instinct the best players have. He has a few minor issues off the course that could be cleaned up but he won't get mine anytime soon again unless he plays in some backwater event.
Semikawa is one to follow with a good showing and a T8 finish. He'll figure again in my thoughts this week in the alternate event.
Over on China, the tournament was reduced to 54 holes. TY Ko was never really in it and made sure.of that, shooting +15 on the last day, taking a 10 on the last hole.of the week. Best I steer clear of the DP world tour.
Kicking myself in the LIV golf betting, ofcourse Brooks goes.out and wins the start before his PGA.championship defence and he looks to be one to hop on next week again. Oosthuizen played like a spastic.
As mentioned there are two events this week leading up to the PGA championship, The Wells Fargo, a signature event and also the Myrtle Beach classic for the mules of the tour.
Wells Fargo at Quail Hollow is a stop where Rory excels. So much so, he has the gained over 2.5 shots per round on the field across his 46 rounds here. On face value, doesnt mean that much, but considering there are only 9 instances of this in history at other courses (+2.2 or more strokes per round, minimum 40 rounds), where Tiger holds 5 of these, it becomes very significant. Think DJ at Pebble, Spieth at Colonial etc.
Rory loves the place. He is coming off a win in a teams event, where to anyone was watching, he was the reason they got over the line in the end and Shane Lowry will be kissing Rorys d#$k for the next two years becuase of that.
Xander is second favorite at $10 and Wyndham Clarke is $27 trying to defend. Clarke could be a bet for those looking for value but im steering clear of the wet sock Schauffele.
The story lines match up. Rory heads to the US PGA next week to a place where he won his US PGA championship at Valhalla. The tour needs it and so does he. Next week if he wins he joins the storylines for the PGA Championship of Scheffler and Brooks and makes for a mouth watering contest.
Now that Aberg has withdrawn with a knee issue, it leaves Rory out on top at 8.50. I really think its a single bullet week so thats the way im playing it.
15 units at 8.50 will return 127.5 units.
Over in the mules event at the newly minted Myrtle Beach Classic, Im also going one out but an each way bet.
With Ben Griffen the favorite at $23 and Daniel Berger and Erik VAn Rooyen at $29 second favorites, you know this event is lacking in quality. It is a glorified Korn Ferry event and is rip for the picking for someone to grab a whole lot of Fedex points and some cash i a very weak field.
Im sticking with Taigo Semikawa, who aquited himself well last week with a T8 finish and more importanlty, had a great Sunday coming into this event. Im happy to go each way here (places 1-6) at $51 and $11
2.5 units each way here for 155 collect for a win and 27.5 back for a top 6.
Rory finishes the day at -4. He is T2 with a host of others and they are all trailing Wet Socks Schauffele at -7.
Rory had 4 bogeys in his round as well. The second nine he played even par after being 4 under through 9 holes. This has become a bit of a regular occurrence, hence his "disappointing" year. He is well placed though as we know Schauffele loves to tease his fans with lulling them into a false sense of win equity at different stages of the tournament.
Forget about Semikawa. He is Dead Fucking Last at +7.
Well with 3 rounds in the books we are in for a Sunday showdown at Quail Hollow, between Xander and Rory. They have cleared out from the field at 12 and 11 under respectively, with Xander shooting -1 on Saturday and Rory charging with 4 under, which on the day was the best of the day in tough conditions for all. His round of -4 was joint with Straka and then 2 better than the rest.
Schauffele ground out the -1 and was in all sorts for the early part of the day, but he did what the pros.do.and managed his game well and steadied.
Rory showed what a champion he is putting all the off the course BS in the corner and playing smart golf and showing his affinity for this place.
Xander sits at 1.91 and Rory 2.50 in the better. Realistically they can't be caught by anyone else, the best being 3 back behind Rory at 8 under. Interesting it is Sungjae Im and I'll declare now if he beats Rory tomorrow and wins I will jump off a bridge ala Bill Murray in Ground Hog day.
I'm still on a high after a Rory curb stomping of Xander. It was tight early. Back and forth and Xander lands the first and only blow on hole 7. He makes eagle while Rory makes par and Rory is down by 2.
And that was it.
Rory goes birdie-birdie-eagle on 8-9-10, and then does the exact same thing on 14-15-16 to go 7 shots ahead stepping on the final tee.
He double bogies the last but it didn't matter, he absolutely destroyed Xander in body and soul.
It was something to behold. True Killer Rory. We all want it.
And now the story lines converge for the PGA championship.
Scottie is hot and the baby is out.
Brooks is coming off a win and going for back to back.
Rory comes in after two wins to the place he won his last major.
Here are.my thoughts this week, in condensed form.
PGA championship Valhalla Golf Course.
Major Championship 2 for 2024.
As noted above, I'm really only thinking 3 can win.
Statistically, only 1 can win. But not at 4.50 !
Scheffler is by far the best player in the Universe. Hes had a few weeks off with baby number 1 arriving. By all reports, he hasn't missed any practice and is raring to go. There's a lot of chatter about him being tired etc etc. But this is a guy who is a professional and let's be honest, he isn't getting up doing the feeds etc. So I'd expect he is 100%.
Rory has roared into contention this week with back to back wins, the last as emphatic as you could get absolutely destroying Xander publicly. He is coming in hot after divorce, which again, people have their opinion about. These things don't happen overnight and he had shown he has that killer instinct. He's not wallowing. If anything it brings out the killer in him with a "no fucks given" attitude. We love killer Rory and I'm here for it. Will he go to LIV now ?
Lastly is Brooks. Coming in to defend after winning his 3rd PGA championship, he wins LIV Singapore on a procession. He played badly at the Masters and publicly he was dirty on himself, so much so that he probably focused a bit to get that LIV win. A focused Brooks is deadly and he comes here focused more than ever.
Let's cut to the chase.
I'm not backing Scheffler at 4.50.
Rory at 7.50 is also short, given he was 8.50 last week in a weaker field.
That leaves Brooks and that's the way I'm going.
Using Tabtouchs 10% boost and money back within 10 shots promo.
I've had 10 units Brooks at 15.40 and money back within 10 shots. A no brainer fo me.
Extra bets I'm having the First round leader bets.
Friday night was sensational viewing. More to the point, how he came out and shot 66 is one of the all time rounds after what can be described as the most US thing in golf history.
I say that because of who it happened too and the circumstances. Scheffler is the last person to directly disobey an officer and cause any of the allegations. Unfortunately, a retiree volunteering was hit and killed by a shuttle bus at the course causing major traffic chaos and delays. Scheffler, driving a marked, courtesy vehicle, was allegedly to have dragged a cop with his car about 20 yards and failed to stop when requested. He was destined and sent to the slammer in a huge misunderstanding/overreaction by a cop, who was actually only there because of the traffic accident and not an official on duty for the major championship. He didn't even know who Scheffler was?
Ofcourse, the police report was created upon his release and looks like a scene from a science fiction movie. This was released after the whole world had watched the ESPN video. Plus the cop had no body cam (which apparently is not protocol).
While I won't replay the circumstances, it begs the question, why are these players driving them selves to the course?
Also, a tragic loss of a volunteer.
As of tonight, it is reported that the whole affair will be dropped by Monday/Tuesday.
What ever the case, it might be the last time Valhalla/Louisville host a major championship with calls from multiple players that it wasn't fit for service.
As.mentiomed, Scheffler arrived on course after the delay and made his tee time on a minimal warm up and shot 66.
Unbelievable.
He faultered on the Saturday unfortunately when things probably kicked in for him the day after. Also, his normal caddie Ted Scott wants on the bag with family commitments.
Quite the tournament for the world number 1 and I feel he was robbed of a chance by what happened. He was in contention, now he is way back with a + round. Meanwhile,.Brooks shat the bed on Saturday.
On Friday, he got to -8 with 6 holes to play and was well in contention. He finished hose last 6 holes +1 and missed 3 short putts coming in and should have been closer to -10. He was 5 back going into Saturday and a +3 round has now put him 10 back and out of contention. More importantly, my finish within 10 is in complete danger when at one stage he looked like he was going to win the tournament.
Such is tournament golf.
Schauffele and Morikawa lead everyone by 2 shots and it will come down to who doesn't blink first. The challenges are ready to pounce on these guys who can be described as non winners at times.
Let's hope Brooks doesn't just give up and gets within 10 shots.

Brooks is very well placed at -4. He played solid as he does in the majors and is lurking. Both Scheffler and Rory both lurking at -4 and -5 also.
Catch up on the Kayo minis and see Scheffler hole.out for eagle on his first hole!
