I know it's back to Ascot so we should be excited for there but what about the feast over east!

It is horse porn central imo.

This year's Guinea's should be one for the ages.
Ripping field will assemble for the race i am a huge Militarize fan myself, the man Jo Moreira sits on again going for a 4th group 1 from just 4 rides, what a record this is no wonder Chrisso wants to have his babies.
Hopefully he wins then Jo can have a crack at the Cox but can he ride that light? Idk ..

Perths own Amelia's Jewel with an anticipated impost of 55.5 looks super appealing in the Toorak Hcp.Huetor will be topweight, Pinstriped looks a strong opponent and interested to see how Antino measures up, he is a winner not sure of his rating so dont know what weight he will get.

Everest field is lacking a gun or two but there are some ripping sprinters in it.The likely 12 are :

*Private Eye
*I wish I Win
Mazu
Overpass
*Think About It - beast
*Buenos Noches - rate him highly, is a knockout chance
Hawaii 5 0
Alcohol Free
Espiona
In Secret
Cylinder
Shinzo

Who wins? *denotes my top 4 selections, includes a couple of back markers who will be steaming home trying to run over the top of Think About It.

Many other great support races in both states, what a great day of racing it will be.
+1 -1

After the race, when Think About It has walted home, you will want to retract the "lacking a gun" comment

Well Steparty drew better(7), Militarize the semi visitors draw copped gate 12.
Better than gate 1 for him, the magic man will have to find the right arse to drag him into the straight then hit turbo boost.

Everest draw is at 8pm tonight e.d.s.t

Everest draw..idk their tab numbers not sure there up yet so they are listed as per barrier drawn 1-12.

    I Wish I Win 1 (ouch)
Overpass 2 (perfect for the leader)
    Espiona 3
    Cylinder 4
Think About It 5 (nice gate)
    Shinzo 6
    Alcohol Free 7
Buenos Noches 8 (not bad, will launch late)
Private Eye 9 (have to go back I'd say)
Hawaii Five Oh 10 (late launcher also)
    Mazu 11
    In Secret 12

Other speed may be Cylinder, Alcohol Free, Mazu will it go forward? Shinzo perhaps.
Moody will be spewing with gate 1 for I.W.I.W

Cracking race no doubt and likely to be run on a good 4 deck.

Anyone got an opinion/tip.for the massive Saturday of big races, Everest? Guinea's? Might and Power? Toorak? King Charles?

My tips as follows, what could go wrong..

Everest - Think About It.I reckon Buenos Noches is overs and the 3yos + In Secret are unders.

Guinea's - Militarize the beast, is short enough but still getting a slightly better price due to the gate I suppose.

    M & P - Duais but a saver on Alligator Blood I reckon.
Just Fine back in trip is under the odds.

Toorak - an easing fav Amelia's Jewel is my top pick. The smokey could be at $15 Amenable.

King Charles(shithouse name imo, king vvanker is shim) - Mr Brightside close to unbeatable, Fangirl runs 2nd and may be the only hope of an upset.

i know its opening of ascot...but..
i'll vote (NO) reasonably early, grab a ham & salad roll and then hunker down in front of the telly for that smorgasbord of racing over east. why in the hell have they put the toorak on last? trying to get more punters in, align it more to HK and singapore times, it would be 2.50pm up there.
    i'll ask josh rodder...

I had an election last night and the girlfriend voted no  :\">

O'brien's Buckaroo may be a good each way chance at longer odds in the King Charles

Good plan Falc full coverage of the whole shebang on ch 7 no need to go anywhere, I made a dent in the Carlton Dry supply tonite watching Cranbourne, oops.
Sidenote, geez I like Carleen Hefel(who rode the last winner there)as a jockey and as a person, seems like a lovely young woman..I'll be checking her book of rides provincially at Hamilton, will ride some winners you would think.

Ascot Used to re open in conjunction with Caulfield Cup day but that race ends up being a week later due to when MC day falls.
I have not even looked at the Ascot fields Falc.I will.

To answer your question I think they made Toorak the last race so as to be well clear of the Everest, good to see a bit of co-operation between Sydney and Melbourne in this instance.I don't mind it I think the weather is alright for.tomorrow at Caulfield so the track should be fine.
Simon Miller is creating a fair presence over there very popular, seems like a good fella and is a BIG unit bet he can sock the piss away :D

Land Legend trained by James Ferguson (based at Newmarket) won the St Leger and broke the track record at Randwick todat. Land Leger has a Timeform rating of 102...by world standards in Timeform's eyes thats an "average Listed winner"

Australian racing at 1600m+ is not strong in terms of depth. It's there for all to see but of course the great defenders of Australian racing will be out in force and in denial.
  • ThunderstruckThunderstruck    7,621 posts
You were going well lately until your last post mate.I don't know why it bothers you so much LOL

Nothing wrong with Australian racing imo, BIG money on offer many times what most of Europe has to offer it is generally paltry.
Some europeans are winning there too which is good for them as we are buying a lot of their good ones.

    Again .. I don't see the problem.
More importantly it ain't going to change PC.

I did notice that comment by Mick Price.Interesting..

Big win Front Page and a nice back story with the older trainer Geoff Duryea passing the keys over to Matt Dale whi got the job done..emphatically.

*track looks decidedly leaderish? Overpass in the big one i bet it firms ..

Sweet Caroline pumping on course a few minutes out from the Everest :x
Absolutely packed house at Royal Randwick..Vlandys cops a raw prawn and is much maligned especially by many a sadsack NRL fan but he is fantastic for NSW racing.
