I'll be putting my 5 ew on Okita Soushi, has won at the distance but at a time 20 seconds slower than the Melbourne cup average :-c
It'll be my first day back to the Bunbury course :x

    Well done Brady.

I wonder how much horses were affected by running the race around 10 minutes late. They were walking around in 30 plus degree heat, when they should have been placed in the barriers, and the race run on time. I reckon, some of them would have been stuffed before they jumped. So much for animal welfare

PC the only west aust jockey to win the cup is john miller.
the other 3 are w.a. born and have plied their trade over east since they were very young, green but talented riders.
we are just so parochial......luckily i still have the sydney mindset.

Probably one forgotten great W A. jockey who was from Jarradale won melb cup on White Nose 1931. Plus the biggest races in South Africia &; India was Neville' Percival numerous cups across every state in AUS should be a flukers hope for Hall of fame nomination one year.
