Marko - if punters were informed enough to understand how good the last was they would have also understood it had an inexperienced driver this time.

There are enough smarties betting that the starting price was reflective of the increased risk from an inexperienced driver.

If Sugars was on, it would have been a lot shorter than the 2.25.

    thats punting.

Theres no pleasing you Marko - you crack the sh!ts when favs win all the time and you equally crack the sh!ts when they get rolled.

he’s obviously talking through his pocket.

Obviously you dont read the posts -  i said i had no interest re betting in 1200 metre races

All i was doing was raising a topic on a Harness Racing forum thats it - thus now getting attacked left  right and centre for doing that

And the only reason i knew it was that blokes 1st drive - was i watched the race live  and when they were scoring up  , Dan Milecki the course commentator said we wish Patrick so and so all the best because its his 1st drive in a race - and i thought to myself - Wow

This forum is just full of excuses

The betting on harness racing  apparently at present is shocking - at an all time low

And i was just pointing out what i believe is a flaw in the system

Are you not making excuses for the poor unfortunate souls who backed it?

watched a few replays of the horse, not the horses first offence, looks like it resents being grabbed hold of on the bit. throws its head up and becomes unbalanced, done it on 2 other occasions in the past month for other drivers. Broke for Greg Sugars on 04/08/23 after being restrained for position. Driver didn't really do much wrong in my opinion.

A little bit of selective quoting from you which is par for the course on this forum- and very interesting who gave you a like

Re Greg Sugars he has had 18 drives on the horse for 1 break - the trainer is currently 1 from 1

Then you totally contradict yourself saying it resents being grabbed hold of , it was a 1200 metre race for goodness sake - why didnt he just let it roll in the breeze  - keep the breeze - that horse has shown countless times in that grade and even superior grade - it can do a power of work and still win thats why it was $2.25 into $1.75

Any how that is my final say on this subject - all i was discussing was the system allowing drivers to have their 1st drive in a race at Melton on a Friday night

And to quote Malcolm Brown - those 5-6 horse single file trials ( re what you are going to learn and improve from them ) - they are about as  useful as a hip pocket on a singlet - compared to driving in actual races

So just curious if ya did your form being such an astute punter as you say you are why did you have something on when the driver was having there first drive ?? I mean Stevie Wonder could of seen that's a huge red flag

You were taught by some top mentors Sonny

Peter Morris - inTer Dom winning driver , father of Robbie and he drove exactly like him , real dashing driver not frightened to make a move - and i think Robbies race colours are Peters

And Terry Robinson , he won a big race at Moonee Valley with i think Frosty Imp , might have been a Vic Derby  , and his father was the legendary Kevin Robinson , and he just didnt win trotting races , he also won gallops races at Rosehill etc , so he was a top- horseman

But just wondering when you were with the Robinsons , look this would be about 35 years ago , they had a horse it was probably my favourite horse at HP for  a while - it looked like it was going to be something special but it didnt really amount to much . Typical Robinson horse, sit sprinter in those famous light blue colours . Dennis Wilson trained it in the latter part of its career , it won at HP  one night at a lovely double figure price , and i can still picture the late Michael Ilsley cluttered away on the odds on fave and i still dont think its got out

The  horses name was Monarchs Best , were you with the Robinsons when they had that horse , or can you remember/recall that horse when you were in NSW
