Hard to be too critical of a 4kg claimer but what was Chanel Cooper thinking being so patient on Manzor Magic? It's Narrogin. Laqdar gave her a short back and sides. She'll learn. I just wish it wasn't at my expense  :((

punting at narrogin is fraught with danger.....backing inexperienced jockeys is risky.
but, as you say, she'll learn.

Actually after watching it again, if it were a senior, I'd say it was definitely pulled up. Laqdar went on the winner just prior to the 600. Chanel waited and still hadn't gone for her mount at the 450 when Laqdar went around her. I don't expect a 4kg claimer to weave through traffic like W.Pike but surely when you ride a stayer back in the field you're entitled to push the button by the 500m at Narrogin.

Well blow me down, she's done exactly the same thing on I'm Eugene. 3 lengths behind the 2nd last horse but doesn't move on it until the 400m mark. It flies home for 2nd beaten a length.

For sure. Poor bugger had the saddle slip in the last. She'll get there. The stable trying to back her but on today's effort she's not ready. I'd be giving her all the non chances until she improves. Shouldn't take too long. Chris Parnham had all the support in the world and had at least 50 rides before he broke his duck!

Maybe the fall involving Braden Gaerth is playing on her mind?

For an inexperienced rider Poopers Cooper is very fortunately obtaining a multitude of very early opportunities. No winners today on four short priced chances. This may be a case of premature ejockulation.

Having said that I still wish her all the best with her career.

Few comments here that are a bit well in search for a better word I will say underwhelming. The girl has had 31 rides for 3 wins 6 seconds 2 thirds and yesterday was most probably her first look at Narrogin

Unfortunately  all kids take a little time to work the caper out. Its a steep learning curve,
social media does not help in any way.
She will improve rapidly , lets go easy .

Being one of a very few new riders does not help. Just sayin

Inexperience is what you have to expect with 4kg claimers (thats why they get 4kg). Don't want to knock a up and coming but very inexperienced rider, but Sacred Oath at Albany last Saturday was not a good watch, and am sure will learn from that
