Grand National 2024

East Coast Racing
Main event from Aintree in Liverpool this year has a reduced field to 34 for safety reasons.

Market movers this week;

I Am Maximus 10s to 7s
Meetingofthewaters 14s to 10s
Mr Incredible 20s to 12s
Nassalam a strong move 33s to 20s

Supposedly the most backed but may not get a start as still outside the cut off mark is Harry Redknapp's Shakem Up"Arry.

Redknapp's trainer was fined the maximum recently and jockey suspended for 28 days after giving another Redknapp runner a tender ride in closing stages. Horse banned for 40 days.

    I was fortunate enough to attend the 1981 Grand National...

    From Wiki ........  It is remembered for the winning horse Aldaniti, who had recovered from chronic leg problems, and his jockey Bob Champion, who had recovered from cancer. Aldaniti's injuries dated back to 1976, while Champion had been diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1979. However, Aldaniti was nursed back to optimum form ahead of the race, and Champion overcame lengthy hospitalisation and chemotherapy to win the National by a distance of four lengths.The story of Bob Champion and Aldaniti was made into a film Champions, with John Hurt portraying Champion.

    I was located near the infamous Beecher's Brook.

    Some old pics attached. Not clear but you get the idea :)

    It's tough to fathom how they charge this. Even harder is who actually pays this?
