Thoughts on what happened prior to the jump in the last?  I was also with Witch Street and it was one Of the 5 horses left in the gates for 9 minutes whilst those drawn 6-10 were taken out and reassigned new gates.  Surely they all should have been removed and put back in?

Agree it was unfair to leave horses in the gates that long. Minor issue compared to the fave smashing into the gate so hard that it broke but still passed fit to start.
Should have scratched it and then there'd have been no delay.

Agree I couldn’t believe they allowed that to start, never seen them have to remove the blinkers to assess and then put them back on.

I witnessed a horse do the same, passed fit but when the blinkers removed after the race found a gash not detected.

The longest delay I witnessed was quite a few years back and it was at Kalgoorlie. A Ballantyne trained horse and it won the race at about 16s. I recall the race because my neighbour was a part owner and we had a profitable outcome.

Aston Villa just qualified for Europe however Astern could struggle to qualify for Roebourne.

I was just reading, they said Peter Fernie had 5 winners yesterday, but had about 18-19 runners, not only him but these large stables have large attendance at race they should be winning races, but look at there winning %,same with jockey's,except Pikey who is out on his own % wise.

Strike rate for big trainers will always be a bit skewed as Fernie like Wolfe at Albany with 19 runners are providing on average 2.71 runners a race, & only one of the two or three in a race can win
