Time to close GP. I can’t even watch the replays due to the uniformity of the races. This is bad for the sport.

Biggest TAB touch win pool on the night (clearly) was the stand at a miserable $13.5k, an absolutely embarrassing $3.6k on the $27,000 mares FFA. (Spare me the flannel on "TAB touch is irrelevant et al). The pools at Wagin, paying out way less than one third as much stakemoney, compare very favourably.

Of the 9 mobile races, leader got to the front and that was the ballgame  on 7 occasions.

But, according to the power gurus, nothing wrong with the product, it was another "great night's racing", sell of half the farm, build a comfy new stand for the 300 members, retain the 800m track after adding in some camber, soak up $24.7 million of industry funds to upgrade the lights, build new stalls and and a new float carpark (a figure that will grow like topsy moving forward given cost escalations) and continue to race insolvently until the other codes go hang on, games up, let them race for what they earn.

However, all will be well,we will run the Nullabor on Anzac Night  April 25th on the Friday of a long weekend, a week after the Quokka on April 19th. It will be standing room only.

All I can say is that the redevelopment of GP seems illogical to me on just about every level. Hard to believe it will go ahead.

5 out of the 7 races won tonight at Northam were from you guessed it, the leader , the other 2 winners were leaders back and the breeze horse unfortunately the smaller, tighter tracks are going to create a bias towards on pace horses, there are going to be instances where the odd race is run upside down on these tracks and something from off the speed will get up and win but unless we want to run predominantly on the bigger tracks this is what we will continue to see

    Simple as that.
    Personally like to think fair,

Harness racing has destroyed itself within, Punters born in 20s-60s without other outside influences no T.V Lotto racing football etc etc., not that along ago G.P. Newcastle were the only Friday harness racing

Friday night harness Kalgoorlie Aug.--Feb in different seasons it was called first pull at punters paypackets.

Mandurah Dogs started in 1979 immediately on Friday night Turnover dropped by 50k.at G.P.

Punters. knew the industry like leaders tracks plus it was only 48 percent mobiles

    Example :: G.P &; R R.. Dec 1978 --june 1979.
33 meetings 260 races 121 favourites 53 second favourites 67 percent admittedly it was on the G.P. 724m. Circuit--- Richmond raceway was 700 metres,.Bookies were going broke. --WATA>BOTRA were at loggerheads over field sizes WATA, wanting 14 horses in stands on 800m tracks. That much in fighting has got us where we are today , will put up the infighting issues over last 45 years, Now to see dirt squirters trying to manipulate G.P. with changes to suit who?. he we go again rinse and repeat.

One thing which certainly didnt help last Frid night in fact would have greatly  affected the pools was that world wide computer crash

Good old TAB Touch  dodged a massive bullet , Frid night you could bet with them  which i did

However TAB.COM ,where ive got both a NSW and Vic acct , but the fixed odds you couldnt put bets on , they had the markets up , but impossible to put bets on , and the tote dividends didnt arrive for many hrs afterwards

Someone posted that Vic have put up  a fixed schedule each week , and their turnover has increased alot , and i notice quite a few Sundays like today in Vic there is no meeting , maybe the participants have said Sunday is a poor turnover day and we would actually like 1 day off a week and they have given them  that

Thus WA could or maybe have taken the lead from that by having dual WA meetings on a Frid night , i really like that concept and i think they should do that every Frid night , that certainty might help turnover , but it also gives other participants , i wont call them 2nd stringers , but it gives another set of drivers a chance  to say  earn say $400- $500 for the night

So keep the dual meetings for WA on a Frid night please

Be consistent, Monday- Pinjarra 52 weeks a year, Tuesday-Friday- Gloucester PK, Friday-Saturday- Bunbury,Northam, Narrogin, Wagin, Albany, Busselton .Sunday- Kellerberin, Williams, Bridgetown, Collie. The only exception when special days like Christmas Day,,Good Friday, Anzac Day.
