FALCON
West Australian Racing
Hi all,
Falcon asked me to let everyone on the forum know that he's in hospital with a strap ly coccus infection. I hope I spelled it correctly. He was fine till last Wednesday, had dinner, went to bed, woke up at3.00 AM and couldn't move. Managed to contact a neighbour a few hours later and finished up in the ICU.
He's in a room now, and they are pumping him with antibiotics. He reckons that it will take few weeks before he's out, they need to make sure that it's completely gone, but he's feeling a lot better than he was.
I haven't had that affliction, but I have a mate who went in to have his hip replacement looked at because it was giving him a lot of pain, and, as unbelievable as it may seem, they discovered a severe staph infection had begun eating away at his titanium hip. That's how strong these infections are. It's been 7 months and he's got a brick, that's right, a brick, of antibiotics implanted inside his hip. The hip replacement has obviously been removed and they need the infection to go completely before they can put it back. He's hoping another couple of months will do it.
Falcon can't work out how he got his infection, but it just shows you how fragile we all are in that we are feeling great one minute, and in the next, we can be struck down without warning by one of these infections. Thankfully we have the antibiotics to help us, but they are still tough bastards to get control over.
I spoke to him today, and he sounds good, but he's still feeling the effects of the infection. He's been through a bit the last few years and needed this like the proverbial you know what.
Mate, I wish you a complete recovery so you can get back to what you do best, taking pot shots at everyone and everything at Perth Racing, governments of all persuasions, and the woke brigade out there. And, of course, posting the odd comment here which might upset a few, or even agree with.
Get better soon mate, PTT isn't the same without you.
+1 -1
