Golf PGA Tour Season 24/25
Sport
This will be the new thread for the new season.
It all starts with the ProCore Championship on Thursday night. If you are confused, there is only 1 week break betwen the Fedex Cup and the new Fall Swing for the start of the 24/25 season. Also, this tournament was previously known as the Fortinet Championship, or in recent years, the Max Homa benefit.
More soon!

New season, new hope.
With the negative balance now gone from last seasons accounting, we start a fresh with a glint in the eye after a whole week off.
The ProCore championship (previously Fortinet) is the opening event of the fall swing and is the first in 7 tournaments leading up to Xmas.
They might not have the best fields but they are important for these blokes 50 and above in the world rankings, to gain early FedEx cup points and a win secured their future for at least 2 years, with all the majors and signature events available. Not to mention the tournament of champions in January and of course, the dinero.
A very top heavy field goes to Silverado, where Sahith Theegala is the favorite to regain his Fortinet championship from last season, his first win on Tour. He is favorite at $11 with Wyndham Clarke.
We need to get off to a flyer. While Sahith and Windy are coming off very great FedEx Cup playoffs, I'm potentially falling into old habits early.
I like two this week.
First, Max Homa. He is playing the worst golf of his life. Since the Masters, he has been horrible. I'm banking he finds something this week, back to a place he won back to back in 21/22 and also, boiled by his semi controversial selection for the upcoming Presidents Cup team. We saw with JT last year, these events can play you into form. After all, the bloke is a top 20 player in the world and you don't lose your ability. I think the familiarity and the weaker field will suit him and he is juicy at $26.
Similarly, Min Woo Lee was disappointed this year it must be said. After his win in Australia early in the year, I thought it might be his year to kick the door down. Unfortunately it wasn't. While he is a consistent player and very very good, he hasn't had that killer instinct he needs to get the job done. He has been thereabouts in many a tournament last season but always puts in the one bad round which destroys his chances. Again, he would be bouyed after his selection in the Presidents Cup team and must be looking to get runs on the board early before the Aussie Summer swing. He is also $26.
I've elected to back these guys on TabTouch for 10 units at $14 in there dual winner market. This represents better value than backing them individually and that will do me for the start of the season.
The event starts at 10 pm WST. Good luck for the season ahead and let's hope for a good start!
Min Woo Lee sits 6 back of the pace of 13 under. He has played solid and needs a good Saturday to be in contention

Shot a respectable 89 this AM (37 points) at Meadow Springs. The greens were cored and sanded and weren't mown, also very duey front nine. Unfortunately had 4 x 3 putt bogies and a 4 putt double which absolutely kills you.
But I'll front up tomorrow on the public holiday and do it all again!

Something for a battler this week, played one fantasy team and streeted the field to take the win.
And now it's Rory vs Billy on playoff hole number 2.

I've had a few doubles after round one in both events.
In the Euro I've gone with Rahm, Rory and MacIntyre at $3.25, $12 and $15.
In the US event, I've gone with Mackenzie Hughes, Ben Griffen and Eric Cole at $13, $11 and $29.
1 unit on each combo is 9 units out. Something to keep my eye on.
This week sees a new tournament on the schedule, the Black desert classic.
Will skip the writeup and for accounting sake I've had an epiphany that Chris Kirk is going to have a great week
2 units first round leader at $41 and 3 units at $34 to win the thing.
Heading off on a 3 day team event golfing weekend for some much need time away. Absolutely frothing at 3 rounds in 3 days with the Perth Golf Network crew at Meadow Springs, Secret Harbour and Rockingham golf clubs.
Have a great weekend and good luck
