Farcical trials

West Australian Racing
I don't think I've ever seen trials quite like trials 1 and 3 on 9-9-24
They are the new crop of 2yos. The first was a 2 horse trial where both horses were trained by Lou Luciani. The third was a 4 horse trial where all were trained by Ryan Hill. The 400m trial was almost 5 seconds slower than the 3yo 400m trial.
The 950m 2yo trial was also extremely slow. Every other year I've seen the 2yos produced, they're ready to rock'n'roll. Early days and I guess time will tell, pardon the pun.

The other aspect was the breeding of those 2yo's.

What point are you making, they've only just turned two and they would be very green trainers just trying to get some education into them.

Every year for the last 40 years I've been watching the first set of 2yo trials. I've never seen such uncompetitive trials. They are usually filled with forward types who jump and run.
Next Monday are the official 2yo trials in Sydney. I guarantee they'll all be flying.

No Prizemoney in winning trials .Just a training exercise to get a horse fit or young horse used to fields .

So the official 2yo trials in Sydney last Monday ran 8 heats over 850m. Times ranged from 49.11-50.02. The slowest last 600 was 33.75.
First season sire Ole Kirk had a couple of winners so given he can get early runners, should make the grade as a stallion.

First 2YO race of the Ascot season is this Saturday. Two Trainers have provided eight of the eleven acceptances.

Good luck if you can make a case for any one of them, at least one will win but it is a raffle.

Kings Court was slick over 400M outside of him who knows.
