Just watching the 302 metre Races from HORSESHOE Racetrack in Indianapolis USA.  Asking if Quarterhorse Racing was added  on to thoughobred meetings in Australia would it create betting interest or on course patrons increases. Was always the last race on all bush qld tracks back in the 70s and would empty betting rings where punters were only fixated on City betting with bookies . Was a sight as they flew past the crowd. Sadly thoughobred breeders kicked up a stink and finished it off for good .

I think it was tried many years ago, probably what you alluded to in your post. It never took off. We are pretty set in our ways here, and change is never easy to bring in.

Just ask the bookies who wanted phones on course so they could be competitive. They were asking for them in 1995, got no result, finally got them 5 years later but with a $400 minim bet attached, but by then it was too late.
