Forget the racecall The biggest drama occurred before the race, The horses departed the back parade ring on stewards instructions, only to be stranded on the track while the jockey intros were taking place, It was very loud plus the massive crowd, The horses started to tee off and MOJO RYTHEM went mental stuck next to a boisterous crowd the horses in limbo on the track  while the jockey intro was completed, MR then knocked the strapper to the ground and galloped off, Absalute disgrace in any race let alone a group 1; Mitch was understably going off, the strapper was devasted, the owner angry . Serious balls up by the stewards who instructed the horses to leave the back parade ring , without insuring the horses could enter the mounting yard, goodness knows what Waller and co thought of that mess

I also noticed after last race, horses didn't come back into parade ring, they went straight out back,as setting up for the band was more important, that's disgusting,a lot of people owners, are pretty proud to have a horse racing on the premier race day at Ascot, only to have there horse after the race sent straight out the back because they wanted to set up fir band.

Yep. If it happened to one of the visitors, there would be a massive uproar. Heaven forbid if a human or horse was hurt or worse.
We've had the shambolic Quokka barrier draw (nice one Brit), the DMac G1 stuff-up and the Mojo messup.
I absolutely love Perth racing, but jeez we don't do ourselves any favours!

Surely Jocks & Trainers reps. are consulted before any changes are made.involving the horses

2007 Caulfield Cup when they put camera bracket in barriers the Favourite Maldivian received 150mm gash had to be scratched.

That’s ordinary to say the least. Without Shothrus input non of us would have been any the wiser. Some one should be held accountable. Why doesn’t someone get on racing radio in one of their call in segment and see if Anyone in charge can offer an explanation. Then again you would just be wasting your time. In reality that’s a bigger issue than the call and as for the band setting up another classic example of putting the patron ahead of the participants

TV coverage didn't allude to that at all. Just sounded like the horse got spooked or was a bit of a rogue. Saw Paddy running towards the 1600M and that was about it.

Are the Jockeys not introduced when the mounting yard mouthpiece is talking about them and the horse pre race ?

Why do pre race routines suddenly change for a Gr 1 it just seems a recipe for disaster.

For the Railway the horse and jockey were supposed to enter the mounting yard at the same time and the introduction done then.
It was completely ballsed up and the jockeys were introduced (badly), while the horses were accumulating on the track.
As said earlier, it was a recipe for disaster and it is an understatement to say Mitch Pateman was fuming

it ws massive, glamour. the biggest i've seen for some time.
i agree with all the above comments.
the volume when introducing the jocks would bust an eardrum.

The volume has got to be adjusted.
Last year on Gold rush day was the same.

They must think its American baskerball.
They tried it and it didnt work.

What gets me is why does WA racing always have to copy what others do and usually late to the party.

Introducing jockeys? Seriously all but 3 or 4 are seen every week

Come up with something of your own.

As far as the fiasco goes, disgraceful. Would have been a lack of communication between the back parade ring and the stewards out the front. Not rocket science.

I didn't hear it but other common errors include having your mouth far too close to the microphone and shouting into the microphone when you don't need to do so.
