Group 1 Golden Nugget.

Harness & Greyhounds
Does anyone have any thoughts
Mine on barrier draw and drivers, this could be a boring race
no highs of many years off a classics and my favourite. Cant see
any pressure and there wont be any track records like Himself.
Could be another walk in the park (at GP on Friday $2 into $1.28)
It just reads that way to me..........
I Maybe way off.

The best Golden Nuggets by the length of the Causeway (straight is too short) were the original concept of 2 nights of 4 heats, winners only through to the final.

They produced finals of the very highest quality, it attracted quality runners from the East and you had to be a top horse to win. Now, it is positioned in no mans land programme wise, it is not part of any Christmas "Carnival" as such,  it is a RBD 4 year old race with as much build up as my dogs birthday party following on from other RBD 4 year old races which contain many of the same horses.

I guess of interest is whether Never Ending leads or hands up. If he hands up to Smartee, would it be game over? With Ardie scratched, that reduces the chance of pressure even more.

Smartee at $2.10 with corps but just $1.95 Tabtouch, Never ending $2.20.

Dont think N E and M S will belt each other up what ever happens,.
Think A DeC should come out with all guns blazing on Sorridere,
it would be his only chance to earn and he might just surprise the other two and cross,
with them thinking that no one will have a crack early and only come out at a controlled tempo.

Thought the racing overall was fairly entertaining with a fair bit of value for the punters across the night , put the a favourite and second favourite alongside each other at any track in the country and 9/10 time your going to end up with the same result just a shame it happened in a group 1

Especially when the driver of the one in the death seat drove the other horse the week before, Junior would have known its not a threat.

Overall the right result best horse with the most ability won a won well !
Evident by its wake as some behind had a cosy run behind but went backwards in the straight.
No team driving controversies it was evident winner is on another level
    to that field.
Bonds horse considering slow pace and excellent initiative from driver was
a very good run could be a top sniper if can continue upward curve in big races at home.
I admire its turn of foot.
Never Ending I suspect not at 100% reasons unknown.
But Chinks might be appearing? apart from last nights run it has disappointed in
prior G1 races at home questions of its tenacity will be asked I suspect in future races.

It was the worst running off the race that I can remember, unbelievable
boring. If the best go against each other they go hammer and tong not
walk around like  GP at Tuesday night speed. Looked well planned for one
to load up for a place if it walked around. 5th didn't help.
Barrier draw and drivers destroyed the race.

Was in my car when this race was on so only listened on the. Radio.
Had Star Casino in all up place and was surprised it didnt hold Goodfellas back early and was amazed how far back it was on settling down as was Richie by sound of his call.
    Thought something must of happened,
    ,but no incidents to report.
     just watched replay.
