 Winners "not bad". I think you're underestimating Machine Gun Gracie. To race on speed and run fast time for 2400m is better than not bad.

 I had to go back to 2008 to find a faster time in the WA Oaks. Grand Journey won that year before backing up to win the Derby. Of course tracks were harder and faster back then.
