I'm sure most of you know that Dolly Will Do had 2 group winners on the weekend. They were her 11th. and 12th. foals.Dolly is 21 yrs old.Just goes to show that as long as they're looked after older mares can produce the goods.Even though my mares now are all young mares I get really cross when I hear people at the sales say they won't consider foals from older mares.

me too. Ready to Lift's mother was 20 when she had her and she was 13th foal and won 10 races and 600k. and her first foal in 1988 was g1 placed. i can't understand why some just can't look at the horse for the horse. if it's a good enough type and there's nothing wrong with it and you like the horse who cares what's on the page i was always taught that only tells you what you'll have to pay for it.
