    Ok, Scottish Open this weekend.

Luke Donald has played this event six times, finished in the top 20 each time. This includes one win and three top fives.

He is currently $41 win and EW (top 5 finish), $7 for Top 6, $4.50 for Top 10, and $2 for Top 25 finish.

I have had a little at the $41 EW. Smaller bets on Jamie Donaldson and Tommy Fleetwood, both also at $41.

The Open Championship starts Thursday at the 'Home of Golf', St Andrews. Spieth is trying to win three majors in a row, comes off a win in the John Deere Classic last week. McIlroy not playing, due to a ruptured ankle ligament. Fowler won the Scottish Open last week (Mickleson was the last player to win the Scottish Open, The Open double in 2013). Oosthuizen (runner-up at the US Open last month) won the Open last time it was played at St Andrews in 2010. Woods won the two before that in 2000 & 2005.

I have taken Speith at $8 to win - his form is brilliant.

Smaller EW on Luke Donald, he had a Top 10 last week, Jamie Donaldson, Francesco Molinari and Alexander Levy.

Good start for Spieth -6, joint leader with D.Johnson, both after 12 holes. Also currently at -6 is Goosen, Streb, Schwartzel and Lawrie ('99 Open champion). At the other end of the leaderboard, Woods is +5, tied for second last, after 11 holes.

Been a while since Donald's last win, November 2013, when he defended the Dunlop tournament in Japan. Doesn't have the greatest record in majors, best finish 3rd ('05 Masters, '06 PGA). Having said that though, it is good to see him playing well again. If he can recapture the 2011 form that took him to World number 1, he could seriously contend this weekend.

The majors this year, so far, have been very good. The Masters was low scoring, with Spieth putting on a clinic in high pressure putting. The US Open, despite the criticism about the course, was high in drama, with a handful of players all having their chance to win in the last three holes. The Open, so far, has most of the top ranked players in the thick of the action.

Fowler shot a 66, currently -7 overall (tied 6th), although with conditions being good for scoring, Leishman shot a 64, he will probably go down the leaderboard as the day goes on. Looked at TABtouch, just for quick reference, offering $51 for the win, $13.50 for top three (via Live Betting). $55s were on offer on Betfair for the win.

Zach Johnson wins The Open championship after winning a playoff against Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman. Johnson ('07 Masters winner) won the four-hole playoff by a shot over Oosthuizen. Spieth had a chance to make the playoff, but a bogey on the 'Road Hole' (17th) cost him the opportunity to win three consecutive majors.

PGA Championship begins on Thursday at Whistling Straits. It's the third time the PGA is being played there, with Vijay Singh (2004) and Martin Kaymer (2010) the previous winners. In 2010, Dustin Johnson missed out on a playoff due to a penalty stroke being applied on the final hole when he grounded his club in a waste bunker prior to his 2nd shot.

Current odds via TABtouch (guide only)

    $21/$6 Fowler, Rose

Jason Day is potentially 18 holes away from becoming World Number 1. Leads the BMW Championship (the third event in the FedEx Cup Playoffs) by six shots. If he wins, becomes number one regardless of where Spieth and McIlroy finish. Would become the third Australian to achieve the feat after Greg Norman and Adam Scott.

Spieth back to World #1 after winning the season ending Tour Championship to win the FedEx Cup Playoffs and the $US10 million. Day needed to finish in the top 5 to keep the World #1 ranking (finished in a tie for 10th).

Adam Scott wins for the second week in a row at the WGC-Cadillac Championship.

He was a little bit lucky with his second shot on the last hole, just staying out of the lake, however he recovered well to save par to beat Bubba Watson by a shot. Rory McIlroy (three ahead at the start of the round) faded to finish tied for third with Danny Willett.

The ban on the broomstick putter hasn't hurt him too much, finishing second, first and first in his last three tournaments.

How good are the Aussies going this year?

After Adam Scott won in consecutive weeks earlier in the month, Jason Day has now just won for the second successive week, winning the WGC-Match Play after winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational the week before.

With that win, Day goes back to World Number 1.

Watched all the match play and Day is just supreme at the moment his short game and when he needs to scramble is second to none! Deserved #1 and favourite to win the Masters going to take a special 4 rounds of golf to beat him the way he is playing at the moment.
