Spurs on horses.

West Australian Racing
I have a 4yr old in work (yet to race) and she pulled up lame in the back end.
The vet believes she has Spurs above her stifle and 'could' possibly be not ready to race as yet and no guarantees she even could after another spell. Has anyone come across similar? I'm just trying to get an understanding of it all and make a decision.
Thanks in advance.

Cut your losses and no amount time will fix spurs.

we had a decent horse with spurs. our biggest mistake was not getting him up and going as soon as possible. we waited for him to be a 3yo.
    Tottenham Hots.
He won us a couple of races, but his knees were flaky, im assuming the spurs were just crumbling and he had bits and pieces floating around in his knees. He'd trot out sound one day and walk back sore. Next day hed trot out sore and come back sound.
We had two operations to remove bone. Each time he came back he lost a couple of lengths.

I backed it one Saturday when I got on at 7's during the day but firmed into 4's. Was a good win. I hate Spurs but I did like the name ;)
