Didn't have a bet on Belmont last week and doubt I will this week. I'd rather lose my coin on a 10 horse field than a 6 horse field.

Not any more. And 3 races with 8 starters and 2 with 9.

    We might be in trouble.

Race 4 will be a cracker, Chantski, Hot Goods and the return of She's a virtue.

First Among Equals looks past the post

Back to field sizes - also add Lark Hill being closed (doesn't help)

Heard a rumour that at least one of the horses in the first was scratched yesterday afternoon.....as the person who told me said.....who to you go to, too look into what RWWA are doing with notifications???

The answer.....you shut up,and go with the flow or you are no longer involved in the industry..

The stewards and the gambling need to be separated !

why would they delete the 2100 handicap to put in a 1000 maiden when there is already a 1000 graduation and a 1000 78+

So they don't have to pay a Westspeed Bonus to the 4yo. as the Maiden is 4yo +and only the first win bonus of $5,000 applies,

anyone know if trainers were consulted about this programming change?

As an owner and member of WAROA I heard nothing about it prior to it being announced

when was the last time owners were consulted on anything??? Read it all the time in the media - full industry support - and you never get a chance for input. Never get a questionnaire from the WAROA group..nothing

As an owner can only say it is a great initiative ;)

Should get the more than 12 runners per race they are looking for.
Will have to wait and see whether or not betting turnover increases - 4up maidens - reality is fields are likely to be full of goats and cripples

What race will the maiden be ? Will it be the first to get it over and done with or will it be the last for the quaddie ? A 4YO+ maiden as the last could see a walk out of punters ?

Only 7 races this Saturday, due to insufficient nominations for the 3yo open run over 1200m
